1 2015 FUNDING STREAMS OVERVIEW FOR HIV SERVICES Boston Ryan White Part A Eligible Metropolitan Area Planning Council May 14, 2015 Boston EMA Health Services Planning Council Support
2 FUNDING STREAMS REPORT AIMS Offer information on funding available to provide HIV related services so the Planning Council may make informed decisions related to Part A funding levels. Provide an inventory of all funding identified. Identify funds provided for core medical services and for support services.
3 METHODS A survey was sent to agencies known to provide HIV related funding as well as agencies that provide HIV core and support services in the Boston EMA. Information sought on: level of funding, and distribution of funding by service category. Data were collected and analyzed.
4 FUNDING STREAMS This Funding Streams report splits the sources of funding operating within the Boston EMA into four groups: 1. Ryan White Funds (Part A,B,C,D,F), 2. Other Federal Funds 3. State Funds (MA, NH) 4. Private Funds Within the main sources of funding, PCS identified: 15 funding streams operating in the Boston EMA, and 61 providers. A total of $250,581,926 was identified as being used to fund HIV services in the Boston EMA during the most recent year available.

13 FUNDING STREAMS SUMMARY In 2015 a total of $250,581,926 was identified to fund HIV related services. Funding in some categories such as mental health has decreased. Private funding that was identified focuses on support services Limitations: A good response was received, but some major funding sources are missing such as Medicare and the VA. Obtaining funding information is challenging. Not all agencies disclose the total of funding they have for HIV related services. Limited information on private funding was identified.
