4 19TH ANNUAL HIV AND HEPATITIS C C Course Information ABOUT THE COURSE Changes occur rapidly in the fields of HIV and Hepatology. This course is designed to provide practitioners with the most up-to-date clinical information on a variety of topics to assist in their care of patients living with HIV and/or Hepatitis C. Presentation formats include didactic sessions and interactive case presentations, followed by subsequent question and answer periods. COURSE OBJECTIVES After attending the course, participants should be able to: Explain the Undetectable = Untransmittable (U = U) Consensus Statement and key findings that support lack of transmission when people living with HIV have full viral suppression. Compare and contrast the efficacy of 2 versus 3 drug regimens in HIV and their role in care. Discuss the epidemiology of bone loss and fractures associated with HIV infection and antiretroviral therapy as well as screening and treatment recommendations for prevention and management of bone loss. Describe the recommended laboratory algorithm for HIV diagnostic testing and the capabilities of currently available HIV screening and supplemental tests. Understand issues and health care needs specific to HIV-infected women including pregnancy and peripartum management of HIV disease. Review programs available through the government and pharmaceutical industry which can increase patients access to HIV and Hepatitis C care and medications. Apply presented strategies for treatment to case presentations. TARGET AUDIENCE The symposium will be of interest to physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists, social workers, mental health practitioners, and case managers who care for those infected with HIV and Hepatitis C. TUITION By June 1 After June 1 Physicians $50 $100 Residents & Other Health Professionals $25 $50 Tuition includes the conference registration, continental breakfast, breaks and lunch and available course material. Refunds are possible if cancellation of registration is received in writing by June 1. After June 1, refunds are not possible, but a substitute may be sent in your place.
