3 Vulnerable Populations (including women, children, minorities, incarcerated populations, MSM) Global Initiatives Legislative Initiatives Would continue and expand the current Administration s efforts to help eradicate AIDS in Africa 10 Plans to continue PEPFAR and build on it 10 Help Africa by increasing trade and commerce between the United States and its nations 9 Will provide assistance to Africa to build countries selfsufficiency to address HIV/AIDS 1 Will give aid to fight Malaria 9 Priority must be given to ending the disproportionate impact of AIDS in minority communities 8 States that the U.S. has both a strategic interest and a moral obligation to lead the global fight against HIV/AIDS 8 Supports the current Administration s proposal to double PEPFAR funding from $15 billion to $30 billion over the next 5 years 8 Would reauthorize PEPFAR in Supports an increased commitment to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria 8 Through increased commitment to Global Fund and PEPFAR help meet US fair share of Millennium Development Goals which include universal access to HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention and care 8 Would reauthorize PEPFAR in Expand Medicaid to Spread of HIV/AIDS, and the efforts of the international community to combat it, will be remembered by history as one of the defining issues of our time 10 States that fighting disease and extreme poverty in Africa is in America's strategic and moral interests 10 Supports PEPFAR 10 Will fund AIDS treatment and prevention programs in Africa 10 Links funding to good governance and economic reforms 10 Views debt relief, investment in health infrastructure, and expanded trade as key to developing sustainable solutions in developing nations 10 3
