Natural therapies are emerging as front line therapies in healthh care systems around the world. This is reflected by our international alliances, visiting overseas lecturers, advisory board (independent local, national and international advisors), knowledgeable and experienced trainers, and development of novel research collaboration with universities and other professional bodies. EIIIT natural therapy programs offer a viable extension to existing mainstream healthcare programs and aims to provide innovative training that can be utilised in a variety of healthcare settings. 4 Ayurveda yurveda the original Naturopathy The origin of Naturopathy can be traced right back to the Vedic period wherein the dietary principles (Pathya and Ahara) and the principles of health (Swastha Vurtha) described in Ayurveda have branched out and developed in the form of modern day Naturopathy. Ayurveda has the most comprehensive knowledge of nutritional treatment of diseases involving energetics, right food combinations, frequency, right preparation, seasonal effects etc which all affect healing at the physical, mental and spiritual level. Ayurveda focuses on absolute perfect health and not disease; it embraces all areas of life health, career, relationships and universal spirituality. Experienced Ayurvedic practitioners can achieve wonderful (some would say miraculous) results through sophisticated detoxification processes, lifestyle advice, advice, diet, exercise and herbal therapy. Our trainers are experienced Ayurvedic practitioners who originally trained in India and now work in the west. EIIIT also has eminent overseas visiting Ayurvedic lecturers and also organises post graduate courses at renowned renowned Ayurvedic institutions in India. 5 Ayurveda Distance Program Structure: Distance study can be very convenient if you need a flexible study schedule to accommodate work and family commitments or if you live a long way from campus. The Ayurvedic distance program can be started at any time and consists of 10 hours home study per week. Monthly homework based on the textbooks is due 20 days after receipt. There is also a 5 day block session of Hands on training on campus to cover areas of Ayurvedic Massage and 5 extra one day sessions spread through the course to cover Pulse diagnosis, Ayurvedic cooking, Supervised Student Clinic etc. For Interstate and Overseas students we can arrange suitable training days in advance. Each student is required to do 20 mock consultations; half of them are advised to be follow-ups to the first 10 so students may see the results of their efforts and provide further guidance if required. The school offers a private online forum, real-time chat room and telephone contact with the trainer. The Ayurvedic courses are dedicated to the integration of authentic, ancient Vedic education with the enlightened Western ideas of today. Career Pathway Ayurvedic Lifestyle Management Consultant, Ayurvedic Massage Therapist, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Health Food Consultant, Ayurvedic Cook, Vedic Life Coach, Yoga & Meditation Practitioner, Health Resort, Beauty Consultant, Spa Therapist etc. Program Director Ray Noronha has been working with medical doctors as a practitioner of Ayurveda at Integrated Medicine Centres in Stuttgart, Toronto, London, and now at Aspects of Healing in Adelaide. Prior to this he worked as a biochemist and geneticist in Oncology and Cardiovascular research. Ray has been fortuitous to have trained under eminent Ayurvedic and Tibetan doctors. He is a member of the Australasian Ayurvedic Practitioners Association and writes for several international research journals and magazines. Program Advisor & Visiting Lecturer Vaidyar Mani Maran Veerappan, is a highly regarded Ayurvedic physician who is an affiliate of the prestigious International Academy of Ayurveda, Pune, India, and been recognised for his research contribution by the National Institute of Ayurveda & Medicine, USA. He currently runs an Ayurveda and Panchakarma (sophisticated detoxification) clinic in Singapore treating severe ailments in accordance with authentic Ayurvedic principles. Page 5

EIIIT massage courses cover specialisation in pre and post natal care, aged care, infant massage, pre and post operative care, palliative care, rehabilitation and management of injuries. As more people turn to massage for its health benefits, a growing number of nursess around the world are successfully combining massage with their nursing acumen to promote healing within the conventional medical community. Course Summary: Certificate in Massage Therapy HLT40307 This nationally recognized and industry accredited program has been designed to teach students the comprehensive practical and theoretical foundation of the many aspects of massage therapy, preparing students for clinical practice. This qualification is a pre-requisite for the Diploma of Remedial Massage. Diploma of Remedial Massage HLT50307 The nationally recognized and industry accredited Diploma covers the provision of remedial massage treatment to clients with specific needs such as injury management, rehabilitation, palliative care, aged care, women and children. Practitioners at this level may supervise other massage therapists.
