13 Shin So Shiatsu Practitioner s Reference Manual I. Getting Started

14 2 Getting Started Before You Begin Diagnosis and Treatment 1. Prepare your treatment room. Make sure there are no disruptive sources of electromagnetic energy. Seal off sources of ja ki (see Healing the Deeper Meridian Systems, page 67). 2. Prepare yourself. Remove jewelry, gems, crystals, watches, pharmaceuticals and strong herbal products from your body. Clear surface ja ki from your body. 3. Prepare your patient. Have them remove jewelry, gems, crystals, watches, pharmaceuticals, and strong herbal products. Ask them to lie face up on the treatment mat, arms placed close beside their body, and legs comfortably close together. You are positioned comfortably beside and facing the patient. Remove surface ja ki from the patient. General Shin So Shiatsu Protocol 1. Diagnose patient s deepest energetic imbalance. Sound images: Ji, Zu, De, Na, Gu, Ka. 2. Determine whether the patient s problem is mainly structural or emotional/in the organs. 3. Identify main and/or specific structural problems. Check pelvic balance; use Neh sound image. 4. Treat deepest energetic imbalance and structural imbalances using most appropriate Shin So Shiatsu treatment method. 5. Remove internal ja ki if necessary. 6. Clear remaining muscle tensions and blockages with basic shiatsu. How to remove surface ja ki: Sweep body with palm open and facing feet. Use A-o sound image. Find one hole in upper body, one in lower body. Send energy. Circulate ki up back, down front.
