Evaluate the safety and efficacy of the various classes of biologic agents in RA and other immune-mediated inflammatory rheumatologic diseases. Discuss the current and emerging therapeutic options that target established and newly recognized pathways in the pathogenesis of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, RA and other immunemediated inflammatory rheumatologic diseases. Implement strategies for preventing and managing infections as a comorbidity in patients with rheumatic diseases. Formulate an evidence-based management plan incorporating updated recommendations for patients with hyperuricemia and gout. Develop individualized strategies for pain management in patients with immune-mediated inflammatory rheumatologic diseases. Describe the advances in treatment options for ankylosing spondylitis and implement applicable new strategies in clinical practice. Better recognize the signs and symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus and be prepared to incorporate into patient care new and emerging treatment options. Compare and contrast the efficacy and safety profiles of pharmacologic therapeutic options for osteoporosis and identify their advantages and limitations. Implement a strategy for incorporating newer biologic agents into the roster of treatment options for patients with interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension. Describe the clinical manifestations of reactive arthritis and demonstrate improved ability to clinically differentiate between RA and reactive arthritis. Clinically identify secondary vasculitis caused by anti-neutrophil cytoplasm antibodies (ANCA) and institute appropriate therapy. -Daniel E.
