2 Introduction BD Biosciences PharMingen is proud to introduce an expanded line of immunohistochemistry/immunopathology research reagents. This expanded line of reagents consists of primary and secondary antibodies as well as a line of antigen retrieval and detection systems optimized for your research immunohistochemistry needs. In addition, we are offering a series of Multiple Tissue Arrays (MTA) of human, mouse and rat organ tissues. Quality Affinity purified monoclonal antibodies optimised for IHC. Performance analysed in Zinc- and formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissues with antigen retrieval as well as acetone-fixed frozen sections. Multiple Tissue Arrays (MTA) Multiple tissue arrays allow for high throughput screening by immunohistochemistry and In-Situ hybridization. Our tissue arrays are made with formalin-fixed or Zinc-fixed paraffin embedded tissues. Zinc fixative provides better morphology than a frozen section, yet still preserves the antigenicity of a large number of cell markers (approximately 75-80% of human and mouse CD markers tested were reactive with Zinc fixed paraffin embedded tissues). Our normal MTA includes, but is not limited to, tissues from heart, lung, liver, spleen, kidney, lymph node, thymus, thyroid, pancreas, skin, adrenal gland, artery, vein, cerebrum, cerebellum, skeletal muscle, colon, stomach, small intestine, salivary gland, and reproductive systems. Key features of multiple tissue arrays: A broad spectrum of tissues from 24 major organs (in duplicate); Ensured retention of local tissue structure: each tissue spot is 1.5 mm in diameter to depict morphological detail; Both Zinc- and formalin-fixed paraffin embedded human, mouse and rat MTA are available. 3 Buffers and Fixatives Antigen Retrieval Systems BD Retrievagen A, B and TUF (Tissue Unmasking Fluid) are designed for antigen retrieval in formalin-fixed paraffin sections while maintaining good tissue morphology and the option for simultaneous multi-color immunostaining of various antigens. Zinc Fixative Zinc fixative is milder than formalin, thus less detrimental to antigenicity. Zinc fixative also maintains good tissue morphology while helping mitigate problems of epitope masking. Antibody Diluents The IHC antibody diluent is a buffered solution ideal for dilution of primary and secondary antibodies. All antibodies for IHC are provided in this IHC antibody diluent.
