1 2 Autism Parent Programmes & Workshops Spring Term 2013 Workshop Date/Time First Aid for Parents & Carers of Children & Young People with Autism FREE Presented by Sue Jackson, Bespoke Training Thursday 17 th January 10am 3:30pm First Aid for Parents & Carers A free workshop for Parents & Carers of Children and Young People with Autism This workshop is designed to give a basic knowledge of First Aid. HSE Accredited. Places limited to 12 per workshop Please note this is a First Aid Workshop, providing information on how to treat injuries only it is NOT autism behaviour management! FREE Workshop For Parents & Carers of children & Young People with Autism only. Due to funding criteria this workshop is not available to professionals Contact Nicola Hawkins Autistic Spectrum Drop-In Mornings 3 rd Wednesday of every month. 10am 12:30pm Informal Drop In Sessions An opportunity for Parents & Carers of Children with ASD to meet other parents, have a coffee & a chat and speak to professionals from Health & Social Services. For parents/carers of a child with a diagnosis of ASD. To gain a better understanding of the reasons for your child s behaviour and strategies for managing behaviour. 10 per person (50% reduction for additional family member) 15 with consultation (first come, first served basis) only 2 appointments available, must be pre booked ( 20 per couple). Sibs Training for Sibling Group Leaders (Professionals Only) Presented by Nicola Dean, Sibs Wednesday 27 th February 35 Presented by Nicola Dean, Sibs Training is for: Professionals who would like to set up a new sibling group (who have experience of working with children in groups)and sessional workers/volunteers involved in groups. Purpose of the training: To Equip participants with enough information, activities & confidence to set up a sibling group for children aged 7 upwards. Participants will gain: A clear rationale for running a sibling group, information on how to structure a sibling group. Recreational and discussion activity ideas for your group and information and good practice for sibling group leaders. 35 Please make cheques payable to NORSACA

4 Sensory Workshop Presented by Linda Lyn-Cook Wednesday 6 th March 10 per person (50% reduction for additional family member) Consultant Lecturer Autism Thursdays 7 th, 14 th & 21 st March 18 th, 25 th April and Early Years Parent Programme 6:30 8:30pm A series of workshops for parents of children between the ages of 2 5 years on the Autistic Spectrum, living in shire. Each session will include input from professionals with expertise in autism & will provide opportunities for questions & discussion.
