1 Parkinson s disease treatment Parkinson s disease is a neurodegenerative disease that gives progressive disability which cannot be halted, not even with the most elaborated pharmacotherapy, nor with surgical procedures. Progressive loss of dopamine gives symptoms such as tremor, rigidity of the muscles, slow movements, decreased dexterity, difficulty swallowing food, changed voice, forgetfulness, poor sleeping regimen, depression, sexual dysfunction, chronic fatigue. In early stages the disease can be controlled with present pharmacotherapy.
