Duties: I am responsible for overseeing behavioral and fmri studies looking at individual differences in the processing of anti-drug messages in adolescents. I collected, prepared, analyzed, and presented data related to multiple projects in this domain. I have also been responsible for conducting studies related to understanding cognitive remediation interventions in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry as well as the Minneapolis VA. Last, I have been responsible for advising undergraduate honors students on their senior thesis projects. UC Davis Psychiatry & Behavioral Science: Translational Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Lab (Pre-Graduate) Position: Research Assistant (April 2008 July 2010) Advisors: J. Daniel Ragland PhD., Cameron S. Carter M.D. Duties: Our laboratory was conducting translational neuroscience studies exploring the differences between relational (between item relationships) and item-specific (within item features) memory in schizophrenia using behavioral, fmri, and eye tracking techniques. I coordinated multiple studies and was also responsible for data collection, preparation, analysis, and presentation. 1

2 UC Davis Human Memory Lab (Pre-Graduate) Position: Research Assistant (September 2006 March 2008) Advisor: Colleen Park PhD. Duties: I was responsible for running multiple unitization studies on undergraduate controls. I also assisted in processing data, and helped to design stimuli. The unitization studies aimed to explore the ways in which the hippocampus is involved in object binding to better support memory. NIMH Child Psychiatry Branch (Pre-Graduate) Position: Special Volunteer (September 2007 December 2007) Advisor: Philip Shaw M.D. Duties: I was responsible for qualitative analysis and preprocessing of structural brain images of children with ADHD. Our study was examining cortical thickness trajectories in children with ADHD and related disorders. Clinical Experience University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry Supervisors: S. Charles Schulz M.D., Aimee Murray PsyD. Position: Clinical Rater (March 2014 September 2014) Duties: I administer the SCoRS rating scale as part of a clinical trial investigating the efficacy of a alpha-nicotinic receptor agonist to improve cognition and psychosocial functioning in patients with schizophrenia. University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry: Anxiety Disorders Clinic Supervisor: Matt Kushner PhD. LP Position: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist (September 2013 Present) Duties: I conduct manualized cognitive behavioral therapy sessions for patients with OCD, specific phobias, and other anxiety disorders. Primary techniques focus on cognitive restructuring and exposure. I also participated and gave a guest lecture in a CBT course for psychiatry residents, interns, and practicum students led by Dr. Kushner. International Adoption Children s Group Supervisor: Maria Krupina PhD. LP Position: Group Facilitator (June 2013 August 2013) Duties: I co-led a manualized executive and mindfulness training group therapy for internationally adopted children ages 5 to 12. Hennepin County Medical Center: Knapp Rehabilitation Center Supervisor: Kathleen Feil PhD. LP Position: Clinical Psychology Student (September 2012 August 2013) Duties: I serve as an on site therapist and consultant for inpatients recovering from acute physical injuries and trauma. I conduct semi-structured interviews, make diagnostic assessments, and provide psychotherapy. Additionally, I help make treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, nurses, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy teams. University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry Supervisors: Stephen Olson M.D., Alice Medalia PhD. 2

3 Position: Study Clinician (July 2012 June 2013) Duties: I administer manualized cognitive remediation therapy and an associated bridging group for patients with schizophrenia undergoing a randomized clinical trial. Patients randomized into the treatment group receive auditory-based cognitive training and an associated cognitive bridging therapy, while patients in the control condition receive matched computer exposure and a healthy behaviors bridging therapy. Midwestern Neuropsychology Clinic Supervisors: Michael Fuhrman PhD., Kirsten Mohn PhD., Daniel Goldman PhD. Position: Neuropsych Technician (May 2012 Present) Duties: I administer and score neuropsychological tests in a private practice setting. Patients vary in age, race, gender, and neuropsychiatric status, though there is particular focus on cognitive impairment associated with aging and Parkinson s disease. University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry: First Episode Psychosis Clinic Supervisor: Marc E. Mooney PhD. Position: Individual Psychotherapist (January 2012 Present) Duties: I see patients with psychosis weekly to perform individual psychotherapy focusing on psychosis oriented CBT, stress management, relapse prevention, and goal setting. Patients are primarily recovering from their first psychotic episode. University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry: First Episode Psychosis Clinic Supervisors: Marc E. Mooney PhD., Michael O Sullivan M.D., Danielle Goerke D.O. Position: Group Therapy Facilitator (September 2011 Present) Duties: Working with a team of psychologists and psychiatrists, I co-facilitate a weekly group therapy for young adults with psychosis, focusing on CBT, stress management, social skills, and vocational skills. Position: Neuropsychological Technician (September 2011 December 2012) Duties: I performed neuropsychological assessment to young adults with psychotic disorders and attention problems. Position: Teen Group Leader (September 2009 June2010) Duties: I aided Dr. Marjorie Solomon in a social skills training group for kids ages 13 to 18 with autism spectrum disorders. We helped teens with ASD learn valuable skills to develop relationships and interact with people on a daily basis. I also worked with the parents of individual children to update them on their child s progress. Didactic Clinical Training Experiences Skill: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Instructor: Matt Kushner PhD. (University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry) 3

4 Experience: This didactic course focused on steps and skills to conduct CBT in a variety of settings with different clinical populations. Primary focus was on patients suffering from anxiety disorders and OCD. Skill: Crisis Intervention Instructor: Jim Ayers PhD. (University of Minnesota Department of Psychology/ Minneapolis Walk in Counseling Center) Experience: This didactic course focused on skills for crisis intervention in a community mental health setting. Discussion and focus was on at-risk populations, minorities, and trauma, with additional focus on couples counseling. Skill: Cognitive Remediation Training Instructor: Alice Medalia PhD (TENETS Network/Columbia University) Experience: Training to conduct cognitive training for schizophrenia using Posit Science s Auditory Training program for use in a clinical trial examining cognitive remediation in conjunction with a novel antipsychotic medication. Was also trained to conduct the associated bridging session coupled with this therapy, as well as the sham treatment condition. Skill: Schizophrenia Cognition Rating Scale Assessment Instructor: Ted Snyderman L.C.S.W. (Duke University) Experience: Watched all instructional videos as well as rated the practice tapes. I was responsible for teaching and demonstrating neuropsychological tests, supervising students while they administered tests, supervising clinical interviews, and offering constructive criticism and feedback.
