2 2012 BARROW INTRODUCTION TO GAMMA KNIFE TRAINING PROGRAM COURSE GOAL Sterotactic radiosurgery is rapidly becoming the primary treatment for lesions of the temporal bone. This course is designed to demonstrate the team approach to the treatment of temporal bone tumors using stereotactic radiosurgery. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES: 1. Review correct dosage amounts used with Gamma Knife technology 2. Discuss treatment of meningiomas and gloimus tumors 3. Demonstrate the Gamma Plan program to create treatment plans for patients 4. Summarize radiation biology and physics in using Gamma Knife technology TARGET AUDIENCE This course is designed for Neurootologists, Otologists and Otolaryngologists. ACCREDITATION St. Joseph s Hospital and Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
