Follow these quick tips for prevention: Stay connected to your doctor - develop a good doctor/ patient relationship with a doctor who knows you and your medical history. Make sure everyone taking care of you knows important facts about your health, such as allergies or drug sensitivities. Take a Personal Health Assessment size up your health with a quick and easy online PHA at bcbst.com. Learn about your potential health risks and actions you should take to avoid future illness or disease. Take time to exercise physical activity can help prevent many illnesses including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, depression and stroke. Exercise 30 minutes every day and make walking a part of your regular routine. Eat more fruits and vegetables aim for a well-balanced diet that includes vegetables, fruits, low-fat dairy products and whole grains.
