2 International Cancer Imaging Society The Society was established in order to meet the important challenges of advancing imaging in the multidisciplinary management of cancer by promoting education in oncological imaging and stimulating research in the study of tumour behaviour. The Society aims to bring together radiologists, nuclear medicine and other specialists with an interest in oncological imaging for the exchange of ideas and to organise scientific meetings, multicentre research studies, and postgraduate courses within the field. For further information please visit the Society website: About the Course The tenth annual course of our Society will focus on the clinical role of new imaging techniques in patients with cancer that will aid clinical decision-making and improve outcomes. Special focus sessions will cover new approaches in breast cancer, head & neck cancer, thoracic, gynaecological, peritoneal and paediatric neoplasms. Structured reporting, and imaging for treatment and assessment of response will be discussed, with developments in diffusion and functional imaging highlighted. Keynote lectures will be delivered on the use of molecular targeted agents in neuroendocrine malignancy, and an update on lung cancer staging related to the revised TNM classification. A Film Interpretation Session with teams of recognised experts will offer insight into oncologic imaging and more There will be scientific sessions, dedicated to proffered papers, which will present research in the field of imaging in oncology. There will also be poster sessions and the best overall paper and poster will be awarded a prize. Workshops for smaller groups will focus on a variety of clinical topics. In addition, registrants will have the opportunity to gain practical skills at hands-on workshops dedicated to advanced prostate imaging, breast MRI and how to differentiate focal liver lesions. This course is designed for all radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians and other specialists interested in the diagnosis and management of oncology. The meeting will be held in Edinburgh, UK, allowing the ideal combination of education and social interaction. The conference venue will be the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh located in the heart of the city, close to the beautiful castle, within easy walking distance and close proximity to the attractions of the city centre. A welcome reception will be held at the close of lectures on Monday, with the course dinner held in the stunning Great Hall of the RCPE on Tuesday.
