7 Awareness We are committed to increasing public awareness about lung cancer, through: Events Education & Outreach Initiatives And other grassroots opportunities Education Expert Speaker Series Allows for patients and their families to come together to hear from experts on topics related to lung cancer and research HCP Education Educates health care providers on lung cancer screening through CME as well as non-cme events Materials Distribution Distributes free print and online materials to patients and physician offices Advocate Speakers Program Free lung cancer educational sessions to businesses and civic groups to increase wellness Access Patient Access to Care Gas Card Program: The goal is to lessen the financial burden for patients to receive appropriate lung cancer treatment Since 2014, we provided over 1,000 Gas Cards to patients across North Carolina Access Grant Program: To support local centers in improving access to lung cancer screening, treatment, clinical trials, molecular testing or precision medicine In 2016, we have awarded $20,000 To fund screening programs in Eastern North Carolina To fund medications for lung cancer patients in the Triad To improve access to lung cancer treatment and screening information in minority communities 7
