3 Jason Luke, MD, FACP Assistant Professor of Medicine University of Chicago, USA Jason Luke, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Chicago where he specializes in the management of patients with melanoma and early phase drug development (particularly novel immunotherapeutic and biomarkers of immunotherapy activity). Dr. Luke received his MD from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. He then pursued internship and residency at the Boston University Medical Centre followed by Medicine and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Following Fellowship, Dr. Luke was a tenuretrack, type 1 instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School as well as staff physician at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Wo e s Hospital. Dr. Luke is actively involved in several professional societies including the Society for Melanoma Research, the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer, the American Association for cancer Research and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Dr. Luke as served as the chair of the education committee and as a member of the scientific committee for the melanoma track of the ASCO annual meeting. Dr. Luke has received several awards including a Paul Calabresi Career Development in Clinical Oncology Award (K12), an ASCO Merit Award as well as Young Investigator Awards from the Melanoma Research Alliance, the Cancer Research Foundation and the Co ue Ca e Fou datio of A CO. 4 Dr. Fairooz Kabbinavar Professor of Medicine and Urologic Oncology Henry Alvin & Carrie L. Meinhardt Endowed Chair in Kidney Cancer Research Department of Medicine UCLA, USA FairoozKabbinavar is a full professor of Medicine and Urologic Oncology in the Division of Hematolology and Oncology, UCLA. School of Medicine. He is currently the Director of the Medical Oncology Program in GU Cancers at UCLA and holds the Meinhardt Endowment chair in Kidney Cancer Research. He is the co-director of Hematology-Oncology Fellowship program. He is a member of the American College of Physician, ASCO, ASH and American Medical Association. Dr. Kabbinavar has acted as the principal investigator of numerous clinical trials and his work has been published in many prestigious per reviewed medical journals and has over 90 peer-reviewed publications. He has spent the last 20+ years doing basic and clinical research on anti-angionesis and targeted therapies in H&N cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate and kidney cancers. His clinical work published i NEJM led to the FDA s app o al of Avastin a first anti-angiogenic molecule to be approved to treat human cancer. Dr. Kabbinavar obtained his MBBS and MD degrees from Nagpur University in Nagpur, India accruing honors in many subjects. Then at UCLA, he completed a post-doctoral research fellowship, followed by an internship and residency at Harvard University (Beth Israel Hospital) in Boston Massachusetts. He returned to UCLA in 1991 to do a clinical Hematology-Oncology Fellowship. After the completion of his Fellowship in 1994, he has been a full time faculty member at UCLA. 6 Dr. Adher Al-Sayed Medical Oncology Fellowship Program Director Consultant, Medical Oncologist King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Dr. Adher Al Sayed has been a Consultant Medical Oncologist in King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Riyadh, since He is the Program Director of Medical Oncology Fellowship Program in Oncology Centre, KFSH&RC. He earned his Medical Degree in 1991 from King Saud University, Riyadh. After completing his Residency in Medicine and Fellowship Program in Oncology at KSA, he continued his clinical training in Lombardi Cancer Centre in Georgetown University Medical Centre, Washington DC as a Fellow. He was certified in Medical Bachelor and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS, 1990), Arab Board in Internal Medicine (ABIM, 1996), Member of Royal College of Physicians, UK (MRCP, 1996) and Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). He is an active Board member in the Saudi Oncology Society (SOS) and a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He is involved in many active prospective and retrospective research projects in breast cancer related issues. He has multiple published articles in the field of breast cancer. More so, he is involved in Breast Cancer Database Program.
7 Dr. Ramesh Ramanathan Director, GI Medical Oncology Program Vice Chairman Research Hematology/Oncology Division Mayo Clinic, Arizona, USA Dr. Ramesh K. Ramanathan is a Medical Oncologist and Director of the GI Medical Oncology Program and Vice Chair of Research for the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Mayo Clinic, Arizona, USA. Dr. Ramanathan also leads the drug development program for the Mayo Clinic Cancer Centre. In addition to his title as Professor of Medicine, Mayo Clinic Medical School, he holds a joint appointment as Clinical Professor at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGEN), Phoenix, AZ. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Medical Director of the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Centre Clinical Trials Program, Scottsdale. AZ from and at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute from D. Ra a atha s esea h i te ests a e i new drug development and he specializes in the treatment of GI cancers with a focus on pancreatic and colon cancers. Over the past 18+ years, Dr. Ramanathan has been involved in the development of a number of new drugs and treatments for colon and pancreatic cancers. He has published more than 150 papers in peer reviewed journals. He is an executive committee member and the former chair for the pancreatic cancer research group (PCRT) and is a GI committee member for SWOG. Dr. Ramanathan is an Editorial Board member for Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology, Gastrointestinal Cancer Research and is an ad-hoc reviewer for a number of other journals.
8 Hazem Ghebeh, Ph.D. Stem Cell and Tissue Re-Engineering Program King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Dr. Ghebeh is a scientist interested in the immunomodulation, and resistance to therapy of a subpopulation of breast cancer cell called breast cancer stem cells (CSC). His focus is understanding the interaction of CSCs with the immune system for their targeting and eradication. Dr. Ghebeh et al previously characterized the expression and the mechanism of PD-L1 expression in breast cancer and later on studied the hierarchy of epithelial stem/progenitor cell populations in normal and malignant breast. Dr. Ghebeh has a degree in Pharmacy and completed his Ph.D. from University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada and got a postdoctoral training in SanofiAventis, Toronto, Canada. He is an author of over 20 peer-reviewed original research and review articles and PI of several funded grant projects. In addition to his full time scientist job in KFSH&RC, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ghebeh holds an Assistant Professor position from College of Medicine, AlFaisal University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
