Rf=0.54 [TLC solvent system: toluene: acetic acid (170:30 v/v)] mp o C. 1 H NMR: (CD 3 OD) δ: 6.17 (s,1h, H-5), 3.84 (s, 3H, OCH 3 ), 2.36 (s, 3H, H-8), 1.98 (s, 3H, H-7). 13 C NMR: (CD 3 OD) δ: (CO, C-1 ), (C q, C-2), (C q, C-4), (C q, C-6), (CH, C-5), (C q, C-3), (C q, C-1), 51.9 (OCH 3 ), 24.3 (CH 3-8), 8.0 (CH 3-7). (+)-EIMS: m/z 196 ([M] + 26), 164 (88), 136 (100), 107 (16).
