3 A club like no other Alberton Oval is more than just a playing field. It s hallowed ground where many legends of the game have trodden. Shine Hosking, Bob Quinn, Fos Williams, Geof Motley, John Cahill, Russell Ebert and Scott Hodges all dazzled the assembled masses at Alberton. Endless premiership flags have been proudly raised on top of our iconic grandstands. Since formation in 1870, our great Club has dominated South Australian football and today our relentless pursuit of victory is seen on a national stage in the AFL. Our success is unsurpassed, our tradition is ingrained and the burning passion of our faithful supporters is unmatched. The Port Adelaide Football Club gives you the opportunity to help ensure that we remain a strong and proud Club for generations to come. You can do this by becoming a member of the Port Adelaide Forever Bequest Society, by declaring that you have a left a bequest in your Will to the Port Adelaide Football Club. By bequesting a future gift in support of the Club, you will join a special group of proud, passionate members of the Bequest Society who are preserving the history and prosperous future of the Port Adelaide Football Club.

6 Port Adelaide Forever Bequest Society Our Members lives have been so enriched by the Port Adelaide Football Club that they want to give back and make their bond last forever. And through the Port Adelaide Forever Bequest Society, they can do it and more importantly, they can be honoured for their contribution in their lifetime. Launched in 2010, the Port Adelaide Forever Bequest Society enables the Club to personally thank those who advise the Club they will be leaving a bequest. We are now proud to have well over 100 members which is testimony to the passion of our valued Port Adelaide members and supporters. Bequest Society Members meet regularly, gathering for exclusive luncheons and social events involving Club leaders, players and coaches at the Alberton clubrooms where their names are immortalised on an honour board. The Club enjoys celebrating and hosting the wonderful people who plan to help us and being able to acknowledge their support and thank them during their lifetime.

8 our committment to you If you decide to join Port Adelaide Forever Bequest Society, your bequest will be treated with the utmost respect. Your bequest will be invested into an endowment Future Fund which has its own board and charter to secure the Port Adelaide Football Club s longterm financial future. The Future Fund has strict guidelines that dictate that any gifts be conservatively invested with perpetuity in mind, under a prudently managed investment strategy. Only the income from these investments will be utilised by the Club. This ensures that the integrity of the Future Fund is protected. The Club will utilise income from these investments on capital equipment and resources for the development of players and coaches as we relentlessly strive for the ultimate on-field success. The income will also fund our highly respected player community programs that bring healthy lifestyle messages to thousands of South Australian children. Income is not used on general operational expenses. The Future Fund itself will not be drawn on, and will remain in perpetuity returning much needed income to the Club on an annual basis. This way, your legacy remains an everlasting one.

9 Peace of mind It s a surprising statistic that less than two-thirds of the Australian adult population has a valid Will. If you do not have a Will, now is the right time to do something about it. Making a Will can put your mind at ease because you ll know that your personal wishes will be honoured. It s your way to take care of family members and others who have been important to you throughout your life. If you have made the decision to bequeath to the Port Adelaide Football Club, we encourage you to discuss this with your family. To join the Port Adelaide Forever Bequest Society, you will not be asked to present your Will or indicate the amount involved. You only need to advise that you have left a bequest to the Port Adelaide Football Club, and you will be inducted as a Member of the Society.

10 How To Make A Bequest Once you have ensured that you have taken care of your family, friends and loved ones, your bequest to the Club can take a number of forms: A percentage of the value of your Estate (so other beneficiaries are not disadvantaged, should circumstances change); or The whole or part of the residue of the Estate after you ve made provisions for family and other beneficiaries; or A specified amount of money or items of property (please note that a specified monetary amount will not appreciate over time). The Port Adelaide Football Club is not qualified or authorised to provide legal advice. To ensure that your wishes are clearly and legally stated, you may wish to consider: Consulting a qualified Solicitor or Trustee Company; or Completing a Codicil document.
