2 Registry Name: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Summary The COPD registry will include persons in the population, aged 18 years and older, with a diagnosis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD), and at least one outpatient encounter in the current measurement period or prior two measurement periods. 4 INCLUSION Inclusion NewCOPDDx Patients who have a new diagnosis of COPD during the current measurement EXCLUSION CRITERIA EXCLUSION Patients with a diagnosis of COPD OR Chronic Bronchitis anytime prior to the beginning of the current measurement Exclusion COPDDxPriorToMeasurementPeriod OR ChronicBronchitis MET CRITERIA MET Met SpirometryTesting EXCEPTION CRITERIA Patient has documentation of Spirometry Testing during the current measurement period. EXCEPTION Exception Measure Name: Bronchodilator Therapy The proportion of persons in the COPD Registry population with a diagnosis of COPD and documented FEV1/FVC < 60%, AND were prescribed an inhaled bronchodilator during the current measurement References NQF #0102, PQRS #52 Bronchodilator Therapy Bronchodilator Therapy INCLUSION CRITERIA INCLUSION Inclusion Any patient that had a FEV1/FVC < 60% during the current measurement

6 Corticosteroid Therapy Corticosteroid Therapy INCLUSION CRITERIA INCLUSION All patients in the COPD registry that had a primary diagnosis of COPD during the measurement period from one of the following: Inpatient Visit OR An Emergency Visit If there is more than one encounter, use the most recent. Inclusion PrimaryCOPDDx AND (InpatientVisit OR EmergencyVisit) EXCLUSION CRITERIA The patient has one or more of the following: EXCLUSION Corticosteroid Allergy at anytime prior to the end of the current measurement OR Corticosteroid Adverse Reaction at anytime prior to the end of the current measurement OR Exclusion Medical Reason during the current measurement Exclusion CorticosteriodAllergy OR CorticosteroidAdverseReaction OR CorticosteroidExclusionMedicalReason MET CRITERIA MET Patient was prescribed a Systemic Corticosteroid or Systemic Corticosteroid Prescribed CPTF overlapping the 14 days from date of discharge, from one of the following during the current measurement period: Inpatient Visit with a primary diagnosis of COPD.
