23 Hepatitis B market There is no approved cure at this time HBV is estimated to have 400M chronically infected globally. The prevalence is still significant with as many as 2M infected with chronic HBV in US alone. Overall prevalence is increased due to immigration from countries where HBV is endemic. Current therapies for HBV are limited and in the majority of cases not finite. There is a significant unmet need to offer a therapy that can eliminate HBV in infected people. 23
