Protect lives from the pain of hearing loss
Hearing loss causes pain, suffering and unnecessary cost Most people have a much poorer quality of life when their hearing is impaired. They find it harder to communicate, and many suffer from loneliness, isolation and frustration. In today s society, hearing loss is increasingly noise-induced, and much of it occurs in the workplace. In fact, noise-induced hearing loss has now overtaken whiplash as the number one industrial injury claim. As a result, insurers are adjusting premiums according to the steps employers are taking to limit their risk of being sued for causing noise-induced hearing loss. So employers are suffering, too, and it is time to take action. Much of this distress can be avoided High quality hearing protection, worn consistently by everybody employed in a noisy environment, would eradicate noise-induced hearing loss at work altogether. But until now it s been almost impossible for an employer to refute a claim against them for noise induced hearing loss, whether caused at work, or outside work. So giving employers the ability to check and document the noise attenuation levels they provide to their employees, would protect their companies from the growing threat of industrial injury claims. Single claims of up to 107,000 can be made in extreme cases. Noise-induced hearing loss has now overtaken whiplash as the number one industrial injury claim
Stop noise-induced hearing loss in 6 minutes The innovation SonoLab Instant Fit Custom Moulded Earplugs consist of a single-use headband, which holds calibrated silicone cartridges. These cartridges contain a pump system filled with a medical-grade silicone compound, which when released, flows into the unmoulded plugs and forms the finished custom-moulded earplugs. The silicone takes just six minutes to cure and set. When they are ready, they are removed from the disposable headset, and attached to the face plates and lanyard supplied as part of the kit. They are ready to use immediately. Please visit our website to watch our demonstration videos.
Introducing the SonoLab solution SonoLab Instant Fit Custom Moulded Earplugs and SonoLab Noise Attenuation Programme (SNAP) used together, solve all the problems traditionally associated with the provision of hearing protection. Instant Fit Custom Moulded Earplugs These give more effective protection than disposable plugs, are more comfortable and therefore more consistently used than cumbersome ear muffs, and are far more convenient and cost-effective than traditional custom-moulded plugs. SonoLab Instant Fit Custom Moulded Earplugs not only provide proper levels of protection, but also the ability for employers to test and log the results of individual employees hearing, quickly, easily and indisputably. Hearing properly protected to an average of 30dB(PAR) Comfortable to wear Two-year warranty Optional noise attenuation testing Cost-effective Hygienic Ready-to-use in 6 minutes Demonstration videos are available on SonoLab Noise Attenuation Programme (SNAP) SNAP is an objective system which is not reliant on the user in any way. It quantifies the Personal Attenuation Rating (PAR) by taking an average across seven different frequency ranges, 125, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000 and 8000 hertz. It measures the sound levels in and out of the ear by way of a microphone fitted into the plug, and then the plug inserted into the ear. The levels are then recorded and a fully accredited certificate produced. SNAP produces a PAR not only for each employee, but also for each of his or her ears. This is important because each individual experiences a slightly different level of attenuation from other people, and because no two ear canals are ever exactly the same. The equipment is designed to test the attenuation provided by SonoLab Instant Fit Custom Moulded Earplugs. Summary of features and benefits Certified individual F-MIRE (field microphone in real ear) in just a few minutes Direct comparability with REAT (real ear attenuation at threshold), the gold standard of testing Reportable PAR (personal attenuation rating) for each employee, and for each ear Tests customised protection to optimal noise environments International standards with multi-lingual compatibility 64-bit compatible
Culturally, environmentally and financially advantageous Wellbeing and culture Employees experience a whole new level of individual care and attention through the fitting and testing process with the SonoLab solution. It eliminates the lengthy process of traditional methods of mould making, which means employees are not exposed to noise for long periods of time without adequate protection. The longer they are left unprotected, the more likely they will suffer damage. Environmental Disposable ear plugs are increasingly causing environmental damage. Plugs on the factory or workshop floor, in the car park, in bathroom facilities, and the canteen are all commonplace environmental hazards. In one example, a nearby river was being seriously polluted by disposable earplugs from a factory. The SonoLab system can eliminate all such environmental issues, as well as saving a significant amount of time and money on janitorial services, and whilst cutting out vast amounts of wastage. Financial Companies will often make decisions on the cost-effectiveness of a hearing protection solution on single unit costs, rather than calculating them over the long term. The SonoLab solution is guaranteed for two years, which ensures that the finance department can save serious money over and against traditional hearing protection methods. SonoLab provides a win-win for everyone. It also saves a huge amount of unnecessary administration and production downtime. For employers of choice, adopting the right noise protection system may seem a small thing, which can have a major positive impact. Adversely, if noise protection is a weak link in an organisation, and there are unintentional flaws in the practices, policies or procedures then there s a risk that they will be exposed in some way, at some point, to the detriment of the company.
Flexible protection levels to suit your workplace SonoLab Instant Fit Custom Moulded Earplugs will protect to an average noise attenuation of 30 decibels, which is a very high shield against noise. This is what most people want and need. A small minority require lower levels of protection than attenuation of 30 decibels. For these users there is choice of SonoLab filters which are available separately, and which replace the filter in the standard product. The filters are made of mesh fabric contained within a metallic stainless steel cylinder. The black filter is Full Block SNR 27 which comes with your standard set of SonoLab Instant Fit Custom Moulded Earplugs, The Yellow filter is SNR 24, The Red filter is SNR 21. Earplugs tailored to the food industry For the food industry, SonoLab Instant Fit Custom Moulded Earplugs are available in a metal-detectable option and in blue for easy identification. Earplugs tailored to communications devices Workers in a noisy environment tend to remove their ear protection whilst using communications devices to talk to each other, such as walkie-talkies and mobiles. This exposes them to dangerous noise levels, as well as making conversation a challenge. SonoLab produces special plug-ins for communications devices, so workers can keep in their SonoLab earplugs whilst holding a normal conversation over their device. This is what most people want and need How SonoLab Instant Fit Custom Moulded earplugs differ from conventional custom moulded earplugs? The major advantage of SonoLab plugs is that they are ready-to-use in six minutes. Our solution provides over a 50% saving on cost. There is no need to get impressions made, send them to the lab and experience a three-week turnaround time. The time saving represents a huge cost saving in maintained production, and a significant relief from unnecessary administration. There is no known allergic reaction to the medical grade silicone. Every aspect of the product is100% recyclable, greatly reducing the environmental footprint.
