2 COURSE DESCRIPTION The Mayo Clinic 28th Audiology Conference is a live interactive conference via webcast targeted to audiologists, audiology students, otorhinolaryngologists, and others involved in hearing health care and dizziness/balance. The morning session will focus on balance dysfunction in children as well as noise-induced hearing. The afternoon segment will include a humanitarian effort in the Dominican Republic and over-thecounter hearing aids. COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of the Mayo Clinic 28th Audiology Conference participants should be able to: Describe signs of vestibular dysfunction in children. Translate research findings in animal models of noise-induced hearing loss into their clinical patients with cochlear hearing loss. Explain the planning and organization required to provide sustained hearing healthcare to underserved populations through medical missions. Identify ways in which OTCs might be incorporated into audiology practices to support a broader scope of patient care COURSE CREDIT Unitron is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology. See course information for number of ASHA CEUs instructional level and content area. ASHA CE Provider approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures. This course is offered for 0.45 CEUs (Intermediate level, Professional area). Unitron is approved by the American Academy of Audiology to offer Academy CEUs for this activity.
