Gray-Lingis Page 3 TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES Preceptor of Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) students July 2004 present Supervision of clinical education, which includes meeting with students (up to ten students weekly) in preparation for and following patient care, report editing, review of student performance, complete supervision of patient contact Mentor of Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) externs July 2004 present Mentor and advise Au.D. students that are at clinics nationwide during their externship year prior to graduation. Provide support and guidance as needed to the student, as well as communicate with the supervisors at the various clinics to evaluate performance. Facilitator in the Doctor of Audiology Distance Learning Program Spring 2007 Fall 2010 SPA 7343 Cochlear Implants and Assistive Technology Facilitator in the Au.D. distance learning course covering the applied and theoretical principles in cochlear implants including candidacy and programming considerations, selection and evaluation of assistive devices, habilitative/rehabilitative management, and new technology options for individuals with hearing loss. Teaching Experience: SPA SPA 6311 Medical Audiology Summer 2011 University of Florida Doctor of Audiology course with the objective of teaching the students to recognize the wide variety of defects, diseases, and disorders that cause hearing loss through complaints and symptoms as reported by the patient. Practical information is provided about etiology, audiometric findings, and appropriate referral and management. SPA 4302 Audiometry and Hearing Disorders Spring 2006 University of Florida undergraduate course with the objective of teaching students an understanding of hearing disorders and the assessment procedures audiologists use in the determination of the nature of hearing loss to support appropriate habilitative/rehabilitative steps. RESEARCH ACTIVITIES Clinical Study of the Nucleus Hybrid Cochlear Implant Study Sponsored by Cochlear Americas Sub-Investigator completing audiologic candidacy evaluations of hearing sensitivity and auditory function using amplification, follow-up programming of the Nucleus Hybrid cochlear implant, and completing all WIRB and study related paperwork. Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss Study Sub-Investigator completing audiologic evaluations at the first identification of a sudden sensorineural hearing loss and follow-up appointments when the subject was seen through the Department of Otolaryngology. Alcon Study Sub-Investigator completing audiologic evaluations prior to and following treatment with Alcon ear drops to evaluate the hearing benefit provided to the subject following Otologic treatment in the Department of Otolaryngology. Clinical Study of Music Perception In Nucleus Cochlear Implant Users Study Sponsored by Cochlear Americas
