1 E2 Programming Start Up Guide for the M400 drive. 6 Necessary Applications Condenser M400 Drive VFD Status VFD Control Reset VFD Health VFD PCT HZ Added Application to Reduce Energy and Increase Life Cycle VFD Bypass.

2 Condenser Application: General Tab will have all of your normal programming. You will have to program all of the fields based on the equipment that in onsite.

3 Condenser Application: Set your minimum on, off and delays all to 0:00:00 let the condenser and M400 drive applications control the fan operation.

4 Condenser Application: VS minimum speed is based on the motor you have onsite. You should get in touch with the manufacturer and find out how slow the motor can spin without creating any issues. VS Maximum speed is based on nameplate RPM. VS Increase Rate is how fast you want the drive to go from minimum speed to maximum speed in 60 seconds. VS Decrease Rate is how slow you want the drive to go from maximum speed to minimum speed in 60 seconds. VS Inverter Alarm is mapped to the VFD Health Flex combiner DO1. VS Inverter Bypass is mapped to the Cond VFD Bypass Flexcombiner DO4.

5 Condenser Application: VS Fan State is mapped to the M400 application DR_RUN_ FWD. (M400 Inputs tab) VS Fan Out is mapped to the VFD PCT to HZ Flexcombiner AI1. VS Inverter Reset is mapped to the VFD Control Reset Flexcombiner DI1. VS Alarm Out is mapped to the VFD Status Digital sensor control Logic input 1. Fan Outputs are mapped to the physical relay outputs.

6 Condenser Application: Control PID is mapped to the Condenser VFD Bypass AI2. Fast Recovery Active is mapped to the VFD Status Digital sensor control Logic input 3.

7 Digital Sensor Control: VFD Status General Tab will have all of the same parameters above. Make sure you invert the control value.

8 Digital Sensor Control: VFD Status There are three Logic inputs Logic input 1 is mapped to the condenser application VS Alarm Out Logic input 2 is mapped to the condenser VFD Bypass Flexcombiner DO3 Logic input 3 is mapped to the condenser application Fast Recovery Active

9 Digital Sensor Control: VFD Status All delays are set to 0:00:00

10 Digital Sensor Control: VFD Status Command Output 1 is mapped to the condenser VFD Bypass Flexcombiner DI1 Command Output 2 is mapped to the physical RO point. (Wires 201,211 and 213 on the drive assemble)

11 Digital Sensor Control: VFD Status If you are using the VFD Bypass Flexcombiner there cannot be any alarming from this application.

12 Flexcombiner: VFD HLTH INV There is 1 DI and 1 DO.

13 Flexcombiner: VFD HLTH INV Digital Input 1 is mapped to the M400 application Drive Health

14 Flexcombiner: VFD HLTH INV Digital Output 1 is mapped to the condenser application VS INVTR ALARM If you want an alarm when the VFD has a fault you can add a second digital sensor control and map the Digital Output 1 on the VFD Health Flexcombiner to the VFD Fault DV application Logic input 1.

15 Flexcombiner: VFD HLTH INV DO1 equation reads: If DI1 is not on DO1 is on.

16 Flexcombiner: VFD HLTH INV DI1 description is VFD Health Input DO1 description is VFD Fault Output

17 Flexcombiner: VFD PCT HZ Set all of your Inputs and memory as listed above. Then set all of your engineering units and close the application by hitting ok. Make sure you change the update rate to 4 seconds.

18 Flexcombiner: VFD PCT HZ AI1 is going to be mapped from Condenser application VS FAN OUT AI2 AI5 are fixed values.

19 Flexcombiner: VFD PCT HZ AM1 equation reads: AI1 is going to scale low value of AI2 and High value of AI3 to the low value of AI4 and high value of AI5.

20 Flexcombiner: VFD PCT HZ AI1 AI5 and AM1 descriptions are as they read above.

21 M400 Drive Application Device Address and Route need to be set. Make sure Initial Sync is NO

22 M400 Drive Application Drive Configuration tab should be programmed identical to screen shot above.

23 M400 Drive Application Motor Voltage is 240, 480 US applications. 240V, 480V, 575V or 690V Canadian applications. Motor RPM is on the motor nameplate. Motor FLA is Full load of all motors plus the safety factor. Motor Power Factor is on the motor nameplate. DO NOT CHANGE DYN V/HZ OR VOLT BOOST % Decel Rate is how fast the motor will go from max speed to min speed in seconds. Accel Rate is how fast the motor will go from min speed to max speed in seconds. Speed min is the minimum speed in Hz. Speed max is the maximum speed in Hz.

24 M400 Drive Application Drive Switch Enable is a fixed value. Drive Run Forward is mapped to the condenser application VS FAN STATE Drive Reset pointer is mapped to the VFD Control Reset (Flexcombiner) AO2. Ref Speed is mapped to the VFD PCT HZ (Flexcombiner) AM1. VFD Control Reset is mapped to the VFD Control Reset (Flexcombiner) AO1.

25 M400 Drive Application Drive Health should already be mapped to the VFD HEALTH (Flexcombiner) DI1.

26 Flexcombiner: VFD Control Reset Setup the General and Engineering units the same as above and hit Ok to close the application.

27 Flexcombiner: VFD Control Reset AI1 is a fixed value DI1 is mapped to condenser application VS INVTR RESET.

28 Flexcombiner: VFD Control Reset A01 should already be mapped to the M400 application VFD CTRL RESET. A02 should already be mapped to the M400 application VFD RESET PTR.

29 Flexcombiner: VFD Control Reset AO1 equation reads: If there is a new day the output is 0 if not the output is AI1. AO2 equation reads: If DI1 is on AO2 is 1 if not AO2 is 0.

30 Flexcombiner: VFD Control Reset VFD Control Reset descriptions are listed above.

31 Flexcombiner: VFD Bypass Setup the General and Engineering units the same as above and hit Ok to close the application.

32 Flexcombiner: VFD Bypass AI1 is mapped to the Global Data OAT OUT. AI2 should already be mapped to the condenser application CONTROL PID. AI3 AI6 are fixed value. DI1 should already be mapped to the DV VFD Status COMMAND OUT.

33 Flexcombiner: VFD Bypass DO3 should be mapped to DV VFD Status LOGIC IN2. DO4 should be mapped to the condenser application VS INVTR BYP.

34 Flexcombiner: VFD Bypass DO1 equation reads: If the ambient temperature is above the high (AI3) the output is on. If the ambient temperature is below the low AI4 the output is off. DO2 equation reads: If the percentage is above the high (AI5) the output is on. If the percentage is below the low (AI6) the output is off. DO3 equation reads: If DO1 or DO2 are on DO3 is on. DO4 equation reads: If DI1 is on, DO4 is on.
