All needs, communication methods, and cultural backgrounds are welcome here! What we do: APODC runs a wide range of fun social, and information sharing events, that bring families together. Developing networks of peer support and friendship, help us celebrate our achievements and who we are, whilst meeting the challenges along the way. 3 Life Unlimited Hearing Therapy Service Hearing Therapy is a free and independent national service offering free hearing tests, and information about hearing aid management and other assistive listening devices, such as amplified telephones and smoke alarms, and advice about funding. Although funding for smoke alarms is limited for those under the age of 16, we can talk to families about the types of alert systems available if they are interested in installing them in their home. Hearing therapists work with other health professionals and service providers to find the best outcomes for families affected by hearing impairment. There are 4 therapists in Auckland, delivering clinics in Royal Oak, Glen Innes, Orewa, Albany and Henderson. Self referrals are welcome. 5 Auckland Arts Festival is the largest and most exciting arts Festival in New Zealand happening in March every year. We have the best local and internationals shows and we are committed to making the Festival accessible for all audiences. For Deaf and hard of hearing audiences, we have 3 New Zealand Sign Language interpreted performances, and 2 highly visual performances with little dialogue, for which we have provided NZSL videos with notes on the storyline. TICKET PRICE Tickets are only $20 each for patrons with access requirements for Accessible Programme performances plus a friend or family member. This is a huge discount and we hope that means you can come to several or all of the accessible shows at the Festival.
