Dr. Marilyn Huestis, PhD., Senior Scientific Advisor NMS Labs Inc., Willow Grove, PA 11:45 am 1:00 pm Lunch on Own The increased use of cannabis following legalization in eight states and approval of medical cannabis in 28 states has important short-term and long-term consequences for the public. The most important short-term consequence is increased motor vehicle crash injuries and deaths. Interpretation of blood cannabinoid data is complicated by chronic frequent cannabis intake. This problem affirms the important role of the DRE impairment evaluation and markers of recent cannabis intake.
