2 Õ µ à πµ æ.» À «æ â The 2014 dental fee schedule for the Civil Servant Medical Benefit Scheme Phenkhae Lapying Dentist, Senior professional level Dental Health Bureau, Department of Health Abstract The descriptive study was to analyze itemized dental service costs on public provider viewpoint and develop dental fee schedule of Thai Civil Servant Medical Benefit Scheme to propose to Comptroller General's Department. The study was conducted during March-June Three datasets in fiscal year 2013 collected from community and central/ general hospitals were dental service quantity, material disbursement and dental personnelûs remuneration and welfare. Investment cost of standard service and national dental personnel numbers were also used. The data was verified then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The fee structure composed of itemized total direct cost, indirect cost and 20% added for future development cost. The total direct cost was summed of 50% labour cost which paid from hospital revenue, material expenditure, and depreciation costs of building and durable dental equipment. Comparing to the 2006 fee schedule of the Comptroller General Department, most service fees were higher. Orthodontic treatment with fixed appliance which proposed for cleft children had the highest fee. Collection of all components of material cost causes of its higher proportion of the direct cost structure, especially prosthetic and endodontic groups. Therefore provincial and/or regional joint procurement should be intensively extended. National monitoring center should be established to monitor service claims and provide empirical information for effective management. In addition, benefit for special need group should be revised according to their needs of intergrated specific services including some measures to increase promotion and prevention accessibility. Keywords: fee schedule, dental service, dental benefit, Civil Servant Medical Benefit Scheme, special needs group THAILAND JOURNAL OF HEALTH PROMOTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH April - June
