Many common oral health problems are related HOW CAN AFFECT MY ORAL HEALTH? Plaque is a colorless film of bacteria that naturally forms on the hard surface of teeth. If plaque is not removed, it can cause many common oral health problems, including cavities, gingivitis, tartar, and bad breath. Because plaque can cause so many problems, cleaning away plaque is one of the primary goals of your daily routine. TRY THESE TIPS TO HELP YOU REMOVE MORE AND PREVENT ORAL HEALTH CONDITIONS: Brush twice a day with the Oral-B PRO 5000 SmartSeries Power Toothbrush with CrossAction Brush Head to remove up to 100% more plaque than a standard manual toothbrush Use Crest PRO-HEALTH Advanced Extra Gum Protection Toothpaste to kill a broad spectrum of plaque bacteria After brushing, rinse with Crest PRO-HEALTH Multi-Protection Mouthwash to kill 99% of germs* that cause plaque without the burn of alcohol Floss with Oral-B Glide PRO-HEALTH Advanced Floss to remove plaque below the gumline *In laboratory tests.

What causes cavities? CAVITIES Plaque bacteria break down sugar in your mouth, creating acids that can soften your teeth. This damage is called tooth decay. Over time, tooth decay can progress and create holes in teeth. These holes are called cavities. Without treatment, they can grow larger over time and may even destroy the whole tooth. If you have a cavity, your dental professional can treat it with a filling. The filling will stop the cavity from growing larger. CAVITIES FOLLOW THESE TIPS TO PREVENT CAVITIES: Avoid sugary foods and drinks that can feed the bacteria in your mouth Fluoride strengthens teeth to help prevent cavities. Use a toothpaste and rinse that contain fluoride, such as Crest PRO-HEALTH Advanced Extra Gum Protection Toothpaste and Crest PRO-HEALTH Advanced with Extra Deep Clean Mouthwash vs other Crest PRO-HEALTH Advanced mouthwashes

What is gingivitis? GINGIVITIS Gingivitis is an early form of gum disease that can produce inflammation. When plaque builds up on teeth and gums, it can produce toxins that can make gums red or puffy, or cause them to bleed. Fortunately, good oral care can reverse gingivitis. If gum disease is not addressed, it can progress to more severe forms. Gums pull away from the teeth, creating pockets. Bacteria get trapped in these pockets, weakening the bone that supports the teeth. This can do lasting damage to teeth and bones, or can even cause teeth to fall out. GINGIVITIS FOLLOW THESE TIPS TO KEEP YOUR GUMS HEALTHY: Use an antigingivitis toothpaste like Crest PRO-HEALTH Advanced Extra Gum Protection Toothpaste, which helps prevent and reverse gingivitis in just 4 weeks If your gums bleed, don t stop brushing or flossing. Removing plaque is essential to improving gum health. The Oral-B PRO 5000 SmartSeries Power Toothbrush can enhance plaque removal Tell your dental professional if bleeding continues, and be sure to visit your dentist regularly for cleanings and check-ups

How is tartar related to plaque? TARTAR When plaque stays on your teeth, it can combine with minerals in saliva to form tartar, a hard deposit that requires professional help to remove from teeth. Once tartar forms on teeth, it may be more difficult for you to brush and floss effectively. This can make other plaque-related conditions more likely to develop, and can prevent you from removing the bacteria that cause bad breath. Tartar can also make your teeth look stained. TARTAR TRY THESE TIPS TO PREVENT TARTAR FROM FORMING: Use a toothpaste with sodium hexametaphosphate, a chemical that helps stop plaque from hardening into tartar Crest PRO-HEALTH Advanced Extra Gum Protection Toothpaste not only helps prevent tartar from forming but also helps remove and prevent surface stains Only a dental professional can remove tartar, so it is important to get an oral health exam every 6 months

What causes bad breath? Many people blame foods such as garlic and onions for bad breath. While these foods can contribute to breath odor, it is mainly caused by bacteria in the mouth. The same bacteria that form plaque also produce foul smells. BAD BREATH Bad breath can be embarrassing. Fortunately, it is often easy to address when you eliminate odor-causing bacteria. TRY THESE TIPS TO KILL BACTERIA AND FRESHEN BREATH: Gently brush your tongue and gums as well as your teeth Crest PRO-HEALTH Advanced Extra Gum Protection Toothpaste kills odor-causing bacteria and helps you achieve long-lasting fresh breath Rinse thoroughly after brushing MALODOR Crest PRO-HEALTH Multi-Protection Rinse kills 99% of the germs* that cause bad breath without the burn of alcohol Floss regularly odor-causing bacteria can build up in hard-to-clean places *In laboratory tests. Use Crest + Oral-B products to remove plaque and prevent common oral health problems P&G ORAL life opens up when you do
