1 abcdefghijkm Health Department Workforce Directorate NHS Circular: Dear Colleague PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE FOR DENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH, COMMUNITY DENTAL STAFF AND SALARIED GENERAL DENTAL PRACTITIONERS Summary 1. This circular authorises changes with effect from in the pay and terms and conditions of service of administrative dental officers, community clinical dental officers and salaried general dental practitioners. Action 2. 2 Consultants in Dental Public Health 4. Pay arrangements for Consultants in Dental Public Health who have accepted the new consultant contract are now covered by PCS(DD)2006/4. It should be noted that consultants have received a staged award this year. They will receive a 1% increase from 1 April which will then rise to 2.2% from 1 November. A further pay circular containing the revised national consultant salary scales, fees and allowances from 1 November 2006 will be issued in due course. Enquiries 5. Employees should direct their personal enquiries to their employing NHS Board or Special Health Board. 6. Employers are asked to make their own arrangements for obtaining any additional copies of this Circular which is available on the SHOW website at Destruction Date 7. 3 ANNEX A PAY SCALES FOR DENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH, COMMUNITY DENTAL STAFF AND SALARIED GENERAL DENTAL PRACTITIONERS AGREEMENT These changes have been approved by Scottish Ministers under Regulations 2 and 3 of the National Health Service (Remuneration and Conditions of Service) (Scotland) Regulations 1991 (SI 1991 No 537) following consultation with representatives of the profession.
