1 Dr. Venkataram Mysore MD.DNB.DipRCPath (Lond) FRCP (Glasgow) Is a unique combination of Dermatologist, Dermatopathologist, Cutaneus Surgeon, Community Dermatologist- the first dermatologist from India to qualify from Royal College of pathologists, London, conferred Fellowship from Royal College Glasgow, and for International mentor status from American society of Dermatosurgery. He is the author of a textbook on dermatology, dermatopathology, editor in chief of a major textbook on Cutaneus surgery & Journal of Cutaneus and Aesthetic Surgery ( ), and author-editor of CD atlas on dermatopathology. He is the Chairman Assembly of National Affiliated Aesthetic Societies, President of Cutaneus Surgeons of India, Chairman, Therapeutic Guidelines committee, IADVL and President elect, Association of hair restorations surgeons, India. He is a member of training committee, and taskforce on finasteride adverse effects, ISHRS, Faculty, Dermatopathology Fellowship Program Asian Academy of Dermatology, and member of editorial board of five indexed journals. He has published 66 papers, five books for community education, and a documentary on vitiligo Towards light, which is shown all over India during vitiligo day which was proposed and formulated by Dr Venkataram. In dermatology associations, he has pioneered and spearheaded efforts for starting rural skin clinic, establish guidelines of care, implement standard protocols, initiate research grants, and organized and directed CME programs After passing out his undergraduate degree from Mysore medical college, he served as a doctor in Indian Air force. He then completed his Diploma and MD (University of Mysore) in dermatology and received board certification in the same specialties in He received further training in the skin institute and school of dermatology at New Delhi and New Jersey school of medicine, Cambden, USA. He qualified as diplomat in dermatopathology of Royal College of Pathologists, London in the first Indian dermatologist to do so. He has received advanced training in cosmetic dermatology and dermatosurgery at different workshops in Malta, Amsterdam, Triest (Italy), Munich (Germany). His interest in

2 hair transplantation led to a fellowship in Korea under Jung Chul Kim- a platinum follicle award winner of the International society of hair restoration and Alex Ginzburg of Israel. He has actively pursued this interest and has undergone further courses on the subject in Orlando, Chicago, and Sydney. He has over the years lectured in several international and national workshops on this subject, has been awarded orations, and is regarded as an authority o the subject. Dr.Venkataram has served previously as the consultant dermatologist and head of dermatology at the Arabian Gulf University Medical College and Salmaniya medical complex, Bahrain. He has been a postgraduate teacher for over 13 years and has published /presented over 150 lectures/research papers After return to India, Dr. Venkataram started Venkat Charmalaya - Centre for Advanced Dermatology.
