1 Using the Limbs & Things skin pads and jig The Skin Pad Jig can be used initially on a work surface for ease of learning, and can then be attached to the body of a fellow trainee to practise these skills, whilst also managing patient positioning and practising professional-to-patient communication. Skin pads can be found on pages and 49 1 Make sure the suction feet are secured within the groove running along the underside of the Jig 2 Using the suction feet, secure the Jig onto a smooth work surface If a smooth surface is not available, the Jig can be secured to the BSS Surgical Board (page 42) Skin Pad Jig Mk 3 Part No: This redesigned Jig supports the entire range of Limbs & Things synthetic soft tissue pads. Presents pads on a curved lifelike profile allowing incisions to gape, as in real life Flexible plastic allows for realistic give of skin pad when pressure is applied Stable and non-slip Sucker feet work effectively on smooth work surfaces 3 Insert the relevant skin pad into the jig.
