5 People with diabetes require access to a range of services and support to manage their diabetes 1,2 medicines for managing blood sugar levels and other comorbidities 1,2 education to empower people to manage their diabetes 2 equipment and supplies for monitoring blood sugar levels 2 healthy lifestyle interventions to promote healthy living and reduce the risk of complications 2 healthcare professional support to manage and adjust treatment 2 regular screening for early detection and treatment of diabetes-related complications 2 1. RANJITH S Ranjith has type 1 diabetes and lives in India 2017 maximum price 4 USD/vial * Least developed countries (as defined by the United Nations), other low-income countries (as defined by the World Bank) and selected organisations providing relief in humanitarian situations.

11 Changing Diabetes in Pregnancy CELESTE DIANA SMITH TORRECILLA Celeste Diana has had gestational diabetes diabetes and lives in her in third South pregnancy Africa and lives in Colombia The Changing Diabetes in Pregnancy programme is advocating for improved, testing, care and education for women with gestational diabetes (GDM) in low- and middle-income countries. 48,142 women screened 181,296 4,243 for GDM 1 through awareness women reached healthcare raising 1 professionals trained 1 1. 12 12 Reaching the base of the pyramid The Base of the Pyramid programme works to improve access to diabetes care for the working poor at the base of the economic pyramid. 13 13 Awaits new pic from GWC World Diabetes Foundation The WDF operates independently of Novo Nordisk. The WDF funds projects on diabetes prevention and treatment in developing countries.
