When patients in trials developed heart failure hospitalizations, their subsequent risk of mortality greatly exceeded that of patients hospitalized with myocardial infarction. 21 SGLT2 Inhibitors Virtually all glucose filtered by the kidney is reclaimed in the proximal tubule. 1 Sodium glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) is responsible for 90% of this reabsorption.
