Purpse and Scpe A. Cntinuing Medical Educatin Missin f the Endcrine Sciety The CME missin f the Sciety is t prmte thee educatin and cntinued training f practicing clinicians, teachers f endcrinlgy and related disciplines, and allied healthh prfessinals wh assist in the treatment f patients with endcrine disrders, with the ultimate gal f imprving the care and treatment f patients. B. Audience ENDO 2015 hsted mre than 7,0000 ttal scientific attendees; 4,800 attendees were clinical endcrinlgists. II. Educatinal Activity Frmats A. Live Educatinal Meetings Ancillary sympsia at the Sciety s annual meetings representt majr pprtunities fr cllabratin. The majrity f the physician attendees at the Sciety s annual meetings are bard certified endcrinlgists, pediatric endcrinlgists, r reprductive endcrinlgists. Educatinal cnten develpedd fr presentatin at thesee meetings must be apprpriately rigrus. 90% f the physician attendees at ENDO 2015 indicated that learning abut new treatments at ENDO is highly imprtant 86% see patients, write prescriptins, and rder diagnstic tests. 2 86% f all attendees use infrmatin they receive at ENDO in their current practice r research (36% are currently invlved as a clinical investigatr n an active clinical trial). Emerging data n the effectiveness f varius educatinal mdalities and the rle f physician self awareness f perfrmance as a mtivatr fr practice change shuld be cnsidered seriusly in the design f all CME activities. Multimedia presentatins cntaining case based scenaris are strngly encuraged. The Endcrine Sciety is the primary spnsr f educatinal activities and the exclusive prvider f CME fr all ancillary activities ccurring in cnjunctin with ENDO The Endcrine Sciety maintains cntrl f all learner data; shuld a pre r pst survey be funded, the Endcrine Sciety will distribute n behalf f the educatinal partner. The Endcrine Sciety will als distribute fllw up surveys and related CME activities pstmeeting as funded. All crrespndence with learners must be apprved by the Endcrine Sciety. B. Enduring Activities Internet based learning and ther enduring educatinal mdalities lend themselves t the develpment f a series f activities that can reinfrce knwledge and prvide diversified learning ptins depending n the specific needs and interests f learners. Activities that prvide fr learner self assessment and perfrmance feedback are particularly attractive mdels. The Sciety wishes t ffer a cmplete prtfli f enduring CME activities t address all f the cre areas f endcrine practice. These activities may be tailred t endcrinlgists, primary care physicians, r a multidisciplinary audience. Distributin f these activities thrugh Sciety channels is reasnably cmprehensive when targeting endcrinlgists alne. Initiatives wishing t reach beynd endcrinlgists shuld include a supplemental learner recruitment strategy. RFP Respnse Requirements A. Plicies The prpsed cntent, ratinale, and educatinal design f each prpsal shuld be develped in cllabratin with the Endcrine Sciety. In additin, each activity prpsed must include infrmatin identifying specific and dcumented gaps in prfessinal practice that underlie the need fr the activity. All elements f a ptential grant applicatin submissin must be reviewed and apprved by the Sciety in advance f submissin. Educatinal partners must ntify the Endcrine Sciety prir t submissin f grant Endcrine Sciety 2016 Ancillary Sympsia RFP Page 4 f 5

5 applicatins t cmmercial supprters and submit all final grant dcuments t the Sciety fllwing submissin. The Sciety anticipates cllabratrs may prpse activities in respnse t Requests fr Prpsals (RFPs) frm cmmercial supprters. Any submissin based n an RFP frm a cmmercial supprter shuld be accmpanied by the riginal cmmercial supprter RFP. V. Applicatin Requirements Cmplete RFPs submitted t the Sciety will include the fllwing items: 1. Applicatin Frm 2. Full Prpsal 3. Prpsed Budget (in Endcrine Sciety frmat) 4. Educatinal Partner Attestatin Frm VI. Deadline fr ENDO 2016 September 18, 2015 The Endcrine Sciety requests that all parties interested in cllabrating with the Sciety in the 2016 calendar year, and particularly thse interested in prviding educatinal activities in cnjunctin with ENDO 2016, submit draft prpsals by September 18, 2015 fr review by the Special Prgrams Cmmittee (SPC) at its Octber planning meeting. As sme pprtunities fr cmmercial supprt may arise after this date, the Sciety will entertain prpsals after the deadline, with scheduling pririty given t prpsals in the rder that they are received and apprved by the SPC. If interested, MECs may submit ne prpsal fr cntent t be presented at ENDO 2016 and Clinical Endcrinlgy Update (CEU) The Sciety s secnd annual meeting, CEU is a cmprehensive update fr practicing endcrinlgists, attracting mre than 500 clinicians.
