1 IB SEHS Summer Assignment 2017 Seneca Valley High School Mrs. Meaghan Stuckey DUE: First Day of School, September 5, 2017 Welcome to IB Sports, Exercise, and Health Science! I am very excited to have you in class this coming year. Please review the summer assignment and if you have any questions, contact me before the end of the school year or via . For your summer assignment, you will be responsible for completing the 2 packets provided for Unit 1: Anatomy. You will complete these packets using online resources. Help can be found at Mrs. Stuckey s website: (Please note, this site is under construction. You will be using the sections specifically for Anatomy and the Skeletal and Muscular Systems, but feel free to poke around and preview what else we will be learning this year!) Purpose: The purpose of this summer assignment is to not only learn the content, but improve some of the very important skills we will need all year including: Affective skills including self motivation, perseverance, and mindfulness. Organization skills including time management (like not leaving this until the last minute!) Information and Media Literacy skills How well can you find and identify relevant information and appropriate sources for that information? How well do you use your digital resources to help you accomplish this assignment? This assignment also aim to help you build your IB Learner Profile by becoming more Knowledgeable about our content, Inquirers through your independent learning, and Principled by taking responsibility for completing this assignment for the first day of school. It is extremely important that you dedicate some time to this assignment this summer. We will move VERY quickly through reviewing this material during the first week of school before moving on to new content. The more time you spend on this, the easier the start of the year will be for you! Consider working together, but make sure you master the content INDEPENDENTLY! You will be the one tested on this!
