5 BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank yu fr selecting the revlutinary NrdicTrack SUMMIT 4500 treadmill. The SUMMIT 4500 treadmill cmbines advanced technlgy with innvative design t help yu get the mst frm yur exercise prgram in the cnvenience f yur hme. And when yu're nt exercising, the unique SUMMIT 4500 can be flded up, requiring less than half the flr space f ther treadmills. Fr yur benefit, read this manual carefully befre using the treadmill. 6 ASSEMBLY Assembly requires tw peple. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remve all packing materials. D nt dispse f the packing materials until assembly is cmpleted. Assembly requires the included allen wrench i and yur wn phillips screwdriver _ and wire cutters _j>. Nte: The underside f the treadmill walking belt is cated with high-perfrmance lubricant. During shipping, a small amunt f lubricant may be transferred t the tp f the walking belt r the shipping cartn. This is a nrmal cnditin and des nt affect treadmill perfrmance. If there is lubricant n tp f the walking belt, simply wipe ff the lubricant with a sft clth and a mild, nn-abrasive cleaner. 1. With the help f a secnd persn, carefully raise the Uprights (69) until the treadmill is in the psitin shwn. Insert ne f the Extensin Legs (102) int the treadmill as shwn in the inset drawing. Make sure that the Extensin Leg is turned s the Base Pad (99) is n the bttm. Nte: It may be helpful t tip the Uprights (69) frward as yu insert the Extensin Leg. 69 Insert the ther Extensin Leg (nt shwn) in the same way. 2. Press the Lck Knb Sleeve (70) int the left Upright (69). Make sure that the Lck Pin Cllar (72) and the Spring (71) are n the Lck Pin (74). Insert the Lck Pin int Lck Knb Sleeve (70) and the left Upright (69). Press the Lck Knb Spacer (117) nt the left Upright. Tighten the Lck Knb (68) nt the Lck Pin With the help f a secnd persn, tip the Uprights (69) dwn as shwn. Make sure that the Extensin Legs (102) remain in the Uprights. Attach each Extensin Leg (102) with tw Screws (100) as shwn. With the help f a secnd persn, carefully tip the Uprights (69) back t the vertical psitin. Nte: A replacement Base Pad (99) may be included. Use the Base Pad t replace any Base Pad that becmes wrn

PinchthetabsntheGrunding Bracket(107)sthatthetabswillfitintthehleinthe Upright(69)(seeinsetdrawingB). SeeinsetdrawingB.Placethe HandrailSpacer(65)n theleftupright(69)asshwn,withthecututntheindicatedside.nte:makesurethatthetabsnthe GrundingBracket(107)(seeinsetdrawingB)areinsertedintthehleinthe Upright. 5. Pull the Upright Wire Harness (98) up thrugh the ther Handrail Spacer (65). Place the Handrail Spacer n the right Upright (69) as shwn, with the cutut n the indicated side (see inset drawing A). Have a secnd persn hld the Handrails (66) near the Uprights (69) as shwn. Cnnect the Upright Wire Harness (98) t the wires extending frm the Cnsle Base (81). Insert the cnnectrs and the Upright Wire Harness int the hle in the Cnsle Base (see inset drawing B). Set the Handrails (66) n the Spacers (65), being careful nt t pinch the Upright Wire Harness (98). 81 A Cutut_ 6. Insert tw Handrail Blts (78) with Handrail Washers (77) and Handrail Bushings (75) int the right Upright (69) and the right Handrail Spacer (65). Turn the Handrail Bushings s they fit against the Upright with the thick sides f the Bushings tward the center f the treadmill as shwn in the inset drawing. Lift the right Handrail (66) slightly and align the Blts with the hles in the Handrail. Next, thread the Blts int the Handrail. D nt tighten the Blts yet. Attach the left Handrail (nt shwn) in the same way. Tighten all fur Handrail Blts (78) Thick Side 7. Make sure that all parts are tightened befre yu use the treadmill. Nte: tf there is a thin sheet f clear plastic n the face f the hd decal and the "CmfrTrack" decal, remve it. Keep the included allen wrench in a secure place. The allen wrench is used t adjust the walking belt (see page 27). T prtect the flr r carpet frm damage, place a mat under the treadmill.

8 OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PERFORMANT LUBE TM WALKING BELT Yur treadmill features a walking belt cated with PERFORMANT LUBE TM, a high-perfrmance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply silicne spray r ther substances t the walking belt r the walking platfrm. Such substances will deterirate the walking belt and cause excessive wear. HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD an equipment-grunding cnductr and a grunding plug. Plug the pwer crd int a surge suppressr, and plug the surge suppressr int an apprpriate utlet that is prperly installed and grunded in accrdance with all lcal cdes and rdinances. Imprtant: The treadmill is nt cmpatible with GFCl-equipped utlets. This prduct is fr use n a nminal 120-vlt circuit, and has a grunding plug that lks like the plug illustrated in drawing 1 belw. A temprary adapter that lks like the adapter illustrated in drawing 2 may be used t cnnect the surge suppressr t a 2-ple receptacle as shwn in drawing 2 if a prperly grunded utlet is nt available. Outlet Bx Suppressr Grunding Pin Yur treadmill, like any ther type f sphisticated electrnic equipment, can be seriusly damaged by sudden vltage changes in yur hme's pwer. Vltage surges, spikes, and nise interference can result frm weather cnditins r frm ther appliances being turned n r ff. T decrease the pssibility f yur treadmill being damaged, always use a surge suppressr with yur treadmill (see drawing 1 at the right). T purchase a surge suppressr, see yur lcal NrdicTrack dealer r call and rder part number Grunding Pin Grunded Outlet Grunding Outlet Bx Adapter Plug Use nly a single-utlet surge suppressr that is UL 1449 listed as a transient vltage surge suppressr (TVSS). The surge suppressr must have a UL suppressed vltage rating f 400 vlts r less and a minimum surge dissipatin f 450 jules. The surge suppressr must be electrically rated fr 120 vlts AC and 15 amps. There must be a mnitring light n the surge suppressr t indicate whether it is functining prperly. Failure t use a prperly functining surge suppressr culd result in damage t the cntrl system f the treadmill. If the cntrl system is damaged, the walking belt may change speed r stp unexpectedly, which may result in a fall and serius injury. This prduct must be grunded. If it shuld malfunctin r break dwn, grunding prvides a path f least resistance fr electric current t reduce the risk f electric shck. This prduct is equipped with a crd having Metal Screw The temprary adapter shuld be used nly until a prperly grunded utlet (drawing 1) can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green-clred rigid ear, lug, r the like extending frm the adapter must be cnnected t a permanent grund such as a prperly grunded utlet bx cver. Whenever the adapter is used it must be held in place by a metal screw. Sme 2-ple receptacle utlet bx cvers are nt grunded. Cntact a qualified electrician t determine if the utlet bx cver is grunded befre using an adapter.

Key Clip FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The advanced cnsle ffers an impressive selectin f features t help yu get the mst frm yur exercise. When the cnsle is in the manual mde, the speed and incline f the treadmill can be changed with a tuch f a buttn. As yu exercise, the cnsle will prvide cntinuus exercise feedback. Yu can even measure yur heart rate using the built-in pulse sensr. Five preset wrkut prgrams are als ffered. Each prgram autmatically cntrls the speed and incline f the treadmill t give yu an effective wrkut. The included hand weights can be used t add upper-bdy exercise t yur wrkuts as well. Yu can even create yur wn custm wrkut prgrams and stre them in memry fr future use. In additin, the cnsle ffers a fitness test prgram that measures yur relative fitness level and a pulsedriven prgram that autmatically adjusts the speed and incline f the treadmill t keep yur heart rate near a target level during yur wrkut. Nte: The fitness test prgram and the pulse-driven prgram require the use f an ptinal chest pulse sensr (see page 24). The cnsle als features new ifit.cm interactive technlgy. IFIT.cm technlgy is like having a persnal trainer right in yur hme. Using the included audi cable, yu can cnnect the treadmill t yur hme stere, prtable stere, r cmputer and play special iftt.cm CD prgrams (CDs are available separately). IFIT.cm CD prgrams autmatically cntrl the speed and incline f the treadmill as a persnal trainer guides yu thrugh every step f yur wrkut. High-energy music prvides added mtivatin. Each CD features tw prgrams designed by certified persnal trainers. In additin, yu can cnnect the treadmill t yur VCR and TV and play ifit.cm vide prgrams (videcassettes are available separately). Vide prgrams ffer the same benefits as ifit.cm CD prgrams, but add the excitement f wrking ut with a class and an instructr--the httest new trend at health clubs. With the treadmill cnnected t yur cmputer, yu can als g t ur Web site at and access basic prgrams, audi prgrams, and vide prgrams directly frm the internet. Additinal ptins are sn t be available. Mve the n/ff switch t the n psitin. Psitin B Insert the key fully int the cnsle. Stand n the ft rails f the treadmill. Make sure that the clip is securely attached t the waistband f yur clthes. Next, insert the key int the cnsle. After a mment, varius displays and indicatrs n the cnsle will light. Nte: When the key is inserted, the treadmill incline system may autmatically calibrate itself--the treadmill will rise t the highest incline level and then return t the lwest incline level. GETTING STARTED B Attach the clip t the waistband Stand n the ft rails f the treadmill. Find the clip attached t the key and slide the clip nt the waistband f yur clthes. Next, insert the key int the f yur clthes.... L:::':L J)k--_:... cnsle. Test the clip by carefully taking a few steps backward until the key is pulled frm the cnsle. If the key is nt pulled frm the cnsle, adjust the psitin f the clip as needed. Then, remve the key frm the cnsle. _ Enter yur weight. Althugh yu can use the cnsle withut entering yur weight, the cnsle will cunt the calries yu burn mre accurately if yu enter yur weight. T enter yur weight, press either f the Enter Weight buttns. The current weight setting will appear in the Speed/Pace display. Press the Enter Weight buttns again t enter yur weight. Fur secnds after the buttns are pressed, the weight setting will disappear frm the display. Yur weight will then be saved in memry. T use the manual mde f the cnsle, fllw the steps beginning n page 11. T use a preset prgram, see page 12. T create and use a custm prgram, see pages 14 and 15. Hld the handrails and begin walking. As yu exercise, change the speed f the walking pressing the Speed + and - buttns. Each belt timeas a buttn desiredisby / [ = S,EEO pressed, the speed set- = _"<_ ting will change by 0.1 mph; if a buttn is held dwn, the speed setting will change in increments f 0.5 mph. T change the speed setting quickly, press the 1-step speed buttns. The speed range is 0.5 mph t 10 mph. T stp the walking belt, press the Stp buttn. The Time display will begin t flash. T restart the walking belt, press the Start buttn r the Speed + buttn. During the first few minutes that yu use the treadmill, inspect the alignment f the walking belt, and align the walking belt if necessary (see page 27). B Change the incline f the treadmill as desired. T change the incline f the treadmill, press the Incline buttns. Each time a buttn is / INCLINE _ SEG pressed, the incline will change by 0.5%. T change the incline quickly, press the 1-step incline buttns. Nte: After the buttns are pressed, it may take a mment fr the treadmill t reach the selected incline setting. The LED track--when the manual mde r an ifit.cm prgram is selected, the prgram display will shw an LED track representing 1/4 )O0@@@@@@@OO )0@ @0 ) @0 ) @0 )00000@@@@00 mile. As yu exercise, the indicatrs arund the track will light in sequence until yu have cmpleted 1/4 mile. A new lap will then begin. The Training Zne display--as yu exercise, the Training Zne display will shw the apprximate intensity level f yur exercise. Fr example, if fur t six indicatrs in the display are lit, yur intensity level is ideal fr fat burning. Incline display--this display shws the incline level f the treadmill. I I-.I-I I -_1"1_17 Time display--when the manual mde r an ifit.cm prgram is selected, this display will shw the elapsed time. When a different prl _ SEGMENT TIME 1 gram is selected, the display will shw the time remaining in the prgram and the time remaining in the current segment f the prgram. The display will change frm ne number t the ther every seven secnds. Distance/Laps display--this display shws the distance that yu have walked and the number f 1/4-mile laps yu have cmpleted. The display will change frm ne number t the ther every seven secnds. Heart Rate/Calries display--when yu are nt using the handgrip pulse sensr, this display will shw the apprximate number f calries yu have burned. When yu are using the handgrip pulse sensr, the display will shw yur heart rate (see step 6). TIME 11

12 Speed/Pace display-- This display shws the speed f the walking belt and yur current pace (pace is measured in minutes per mile). Every seven secnds, the display will change frm ne number t the ther. Nte: The cnsle can display speed and distance in either miles r kilmeters. T find which unit f measurement is selected, hld dwn the Stp buttn while inserting the key int the cnsle. An "E," fr English miles, r an "M," fr metric kilmeters, will appear in the Speed/ Pace display. Press the Speed + buttn t change the unit f measurement. When the desired unit f measurement is selected, remve the key and then reinsert it. Nte: Fr simplicity, all instructins in this manual refer t miles. T reset the displays, press the Stp buttn, remve the key, and then reinsert the key. D Measure yur heart rate, if desired. T measure yur heart rate, stand n the ft rails and place yur hands n the metal cntacts n the handrail. Yur palms must be resting n the upper cntacts, and yur fingers must be tuching the lwer cntacts--avid _=c_,l_,_s mving yur hands. When yur pulse is detected, the Heart Rate indicatr will flash, three dashes (- - -) will appear in the Heart Rate/Calries display, and then yur heart rate will be shwn. Fr the mst accurate heart rate reading, cntinue t hld the cntacts fr abut 15 secnds. B hen yu are finished exercising, stp the walking belt and remve the key. Step nt the ft rails, press the Stp buttn, and adjust the incline f the treadmill t 1%. The incline must be at 1% when the treadmill is raised t the strage psitin r the treadmill will be damaged. Next, remve the key frm the cnsle and put it in a secure place. Nte: If the displays and indicatrs n the cnsle remain lit after the key is remved, the cnsle is in the "dem" mde. Refer t page 24 and turn ff the dem mde. When yu are finished using the treadmill, mve the n/ff switch near the pwer crd t the ff psitin and unplug the pwer crd. HOW TO USE PRESET PROGRAMS _1 Insert the key fully int the cnsle. See GETTING STARTED n page 10. Select ne f the five preset prgrams. T select ne f the preset prgrams, press the Select Prgram buttn repeatedly until the Muntain Trail, Pwer Hike, Trail Run, Canyn Run, r Grge Trail indicatr lights. m r,,_. P_, K _A_,_u,_ car,,_u, _,_<.u When yu select a preset prgram, the prgram display will shw a simplified prfile f the prgram yu have selected. Fr example, the prfile abve shws that the intensity f the selected prgram will gradually increase during the first half f the prgram, and gradually decrease during the last half. The Time display will shw hw lng the prgram will last. _1 Press the Start Prgram buttn r the Speed + buttn t start the prgram. A mment after the buttn is pressed, the treadmill will autmatically adjust t the first speed and incline settings fr the prgram. Hld the handrails and begin walking. 12

13 Each prgram is divided int several time segments f different lengths. The Time display shws bth the time remaining in the prgram and the time remaining in the current segment. One speed setting and ne incline setting are prgrammed fr each segment. The speed setting fr the first segment will be shwn in the flashing Current Segment clumn f the prgram display. (The incline settings are nt shwn in the prgram display.) The speed settings fr the next twelve segments will be shwn in the twelve clumns t the right. When nly three secnds remain in the first segment f the prgram, bth the Current Segment clumn and the clumn t the right will flash, a series f tnes will sund, and all speed settings will mve ne clumn t the left. The speed setting fr the secnd segment will then be shwn in the flashing Current Segment clumn and the treadmill will autmatically adjust t the speed and incline settings fr the secnd segment. The prgram will cntinue in this way until the speed setting fr the last segment is shwn in the Current Segment clumn and n time remains in the Time display. The walking belt will then slw t a stp. Nte: Each time a segment ends and the speed settings mve t the left, if all f the indicatrs in the Current Segment clumn are lit, the speed settings may mve dwnward s that nly the highest indicatrs in the clumns will appear in the prgram display. When the speed settings mve t the left again and nt all f the indicatrs in the Current Segment clumn are lit, the speed settings will mve back up. If the speed r incline setting fr the current segment is t high r t lw, yu can manually verride the setting by pressing the Speed r B _ Incline buttns n the cnsle. Every few times ne f the Speed buttns is pressed, an additinal indicatr will light r darken in the Current Segment clumn. If any f the clumns t the right f the Current Segment clumn have the same number f lit indicatrs as the Current Segment clumn, an additinal indicatr may light r darken in thse clumns as well. Nte: If yu manually adjust the speed setting s that all f the indicatrs in the Current Segment clumn are lit, the speed settings in the prgram display will nt mve dwnward as described abve. Nte: If yu manually verride the speed r incline setting fr the current segment, when the segment ends the treadmill will autmatically adjust t the speed and incline settings fr the next segment. T stp the prgram temprarily, press the Stp buttn. The Time display will begin t flash. T restart the prgram, press the Start Prgram buttn r the Speed + buttn. T end the prgram, press the Stp buttn, remve the key, and then reinsert the key. Fllw yur prgress with the displays. Refer t step 5 n page 11. easure yur heart rate, if desired. See step 6 n page 12. r_when the prgram has ended, remve the key. Step nt the ft rails and make sure that the incline f the treadmill is at 1%. The incline must be at 1% when the treadmill is raised t the strage psitin. Next, remve the key frm the cnsle and put it in a secure place. Nte: If the displays and indicatrs n the cnsle remain lit after the key is remved, the cnsle is in the "dem" mde. Refer t page 24 and turn ff the dem mde. When yu are finished using the treadmill, mve the n/ff switch near the pwer crd t the ff psitin and unplug the pwer crd. 13

O0000OO00 00@@@@@@@ Prgram buttn repeatedly until the Learn 1 r Learn 2 indicatr lights. Refer t the prgram display. Each custm Current Segment prgram is divided int ( q) 000( ne-minute segments. The speed setting fr the first segment will be shwn in the flashing Current Segment clumn f the prgram display. (The incline settings are nt shwn in the prgram display.) T prgram the desired speed and incline settings fr the first segment, simply adjust the speed and incline f the treadmill t the desired levels with the Speed and Incline buttns. Every few times ne f the Speed buttns is pressed, an additinal indicatr will light r darken in the Current Segment clumn. When the first segment f the prgram is cmpleted, the current speed setting and the current incline setting will be stred in memry. All clumns in the prgram display will then mve ne clumn t the left and the speed setting fr the secnd segment will be shwn in the flashing Current Segment clumn. Prgram speed and incline settings fr the secnd segment as described abve. _'1 Press the Start Prgram buttn r the Speed + buttn t start the walking belt. B A mment after the buttn is pressed, the walking belt will begin t mve. Hld the handrails and begin walking. ress the Recrd buttn and prgram the desired speed and incline settings. When the Recrd buttn is pressed, the indicatr n the buttn will light. Speed and incline settings can be prgrammed nly when the indicatr is lit. Nte: When the indicatr n the Recrd buttn is lit, the Time display will shw the elapsed time instead f the time remaining in the prgram. _ r_ Repeat this prcedure until yu have prgrammed speed and incline settings fr as many segments as desired--custm prgrams can have frm ne t frty segments. T stp the prgram temprarily, press the Stp buttn. All displays will pause and the Time display will begin t flash. 25 HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Befre flding the treadmill, adjust the incline t the lwest psitin. If this is nt dne, the treadmill may be permanently damaged. Remve the key and unplug the pwer crd. CAUTION: Yu must be able t safely lift 45 punds (20 kg) in rder t raise, lwer, r mve the treadmill. 1. Hld the treadmill with yur hands in the lcatins shwn at the right. CAUTION: T decrease the pssibility f injury, bend yur legs and keep yur back straight. As yu raise the treadmill, make sure t lift with yur legs rather than yur back. Raise the treadmill abut halfway t the vertical psitin. 2. Mve yur right hand t the psitin shwn and hld the treadmill firmly. Using yur left hand, pull the latch knb t the left and hld it. Raise the treadmill until the latch pin is aligned with the hle in the catch. Insert the latch pin int the catch. Make sure that the latch pin is fully inserted int the catch. T prtect the flr r carpet frm damage, place a mat under the treadmill. Keep the treadmill ut f direct sunlight. D nt leave the treadmill in the strage psitin in temperatures abve 85 Fahrenheit. HOW TO MOVE THE TREADMILL Befre mving the treadmill, cnvert the treadmill t the strage psitin as described abve. Make sure that the pin n the lck knb is inserted int the slt in the catch. 1. Hld the handrails as shwn and place ne ft against a wheel. 2. Tilt the treadmill back until it rlls freely n the frnt wheels. Carefully mve the treadmill t the desired lcatin. Never mve the treadmill withut tipping it back. T reduce the risk f injury, use extreme cautin while mving the treadmill. D nt attempt t mve the treadmill ver an uneven surface. 3. Place ne ft n the base, and carefully lwer the treadmill until it is resting in the strage psitin. HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Refer t drawing 2 abve. Hld the upper end f the treadmill with yur right hand as shwn. Using yur left hand, pull the lck knb t the left and hld it. Pivt the treadmill dwn until the frame is past the pin n the lck knb. 2. Refer t drawing 1 abve. Hld the treadmill firmly with bth hands, and lwer the treadmill t the flr. D nt drp the treadmill frame t the flr. 26 TROUBLE-SHOOTING Mst treadmill prblems can be slved by fllwing the steps belw. Find the symptm that applies, and fllw the steps listed. PROBLEM: The pwer des nt turn n SOLUTION: a. Make sure that the pwer crd is plugged int a surge suppressr, and that the surge suppressr is plugged int a prperly grunded utlet (see page 8). Use nly a single-utlet surge suppressr that meets all f the specificatins described n page 8. Imprtant: The treadmill is nt cmpatible with GFCl-equipped utlets. b. After the pwer crd has been plugged in, make sure that the key is fully inserted int the cnsle. C. d. Check the circuit breaker lcated n the treadmill near the pwer crd. If the switch prtrudes as shwn, the circuit breaker has tripped. T reset the circuit breaker, wait fr five minutes and then press the switch back in. Check the n/ff switch lcated n the treadmill near the pwer crd. The switch must be in the n psitin. C Tripped n Psitin Reset PROBLEM: SOLUTION: The pwer turns ff during use a. Check the circuit breaker lcated n the treadmill frame near the pwer crd (see c. abve). If the circuit breaker has tripped, wait fr five minutes and then press the switch back in. b. Make sure that the pwer crd is plugged in. c. Unplug the pwer crd, wait fr five minutes, and then plug the pwer crd back in. d. Remve the key frm the cnsle. Reinsert the key fully int the cnsle. e. Make sure that the n/ff switch is in the n psitin. f. If the treadmill still will nt run, please call ur Custmer Service Department, tll-free. PROBLEM: The displays f the cnsle d nt functin prperly SOLUTION: a. Remve the key frm the cnsle and unplug the pwer crd. Carefully tip the treadmill dwn as shwn in drawing a. Remve the Screws (39, 83) frm the hd. Raise the Uprights (69) and carefully remve the hd. Lcate the Reed Switch (10) and the Magnet (7) n the left side f the Pulley (8). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed Switch is abut 1/8". If necessary, lsen the Screw (100), mve the Reed Switch slightly, and then retighten the Screw. If the walking belt slips when walked n, first remve the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the allen wrench, turn bth rear rller blts clckwise, 1/4 f a turn. When the walking belt is crrectly tightened, yu shuld be able t lift each side f the walking belt 3 t 4 inches ff the walking platfrm. Be careful t keep the walking belt centered. Plug in the pwer crd, insert the key and carefully walk n the treadmill fr a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is prperly tightened. PROBLEM: The incline f the treadmill des nt change crrectly r des nt change when ifit.cm CDs and vides are played SOLUTION: a. With the key in the cnsle, press ne f the incline buttns. While the incline is changing, remve the key. After a few secnds, re-insert the key. The treadmill will autmatically rise t the maximum incline level and then return t the minimum level. Aerbic exercise is activity that requires large amunts f xygen fr prlnged perids f time. This increases the demand n the heart t pump bld t the muscles, and n the lungs t xygenate the bld. Fr aerbic exercise, adjust the speed and incline f the treadmill until yur heart rate is near the highest number in yur training zne. WORKOUT GUIDELINES Each wrkut shuld include the fllwing three parts: A Warm-up--Start each wrkut with 5 t 10 minutes f stretching and light exercise. A prper warm-up increases yur bdy temperature, heart rate and circulatin in preparatin fr exercise. Training Zne Exercise--After warming up, increase the intensity f yur exercise until yur pulse is in yur training zne fr 20 t 60 minutes. (During the first few weeks f yur exercise prgram, d nt keep yur pulse in yur training zne fr lnger than 20 minutes.) Breathe regularly and deeply as yu exercise--never hld yur breath. A Cl-dwn--Finish each wrkut with 5 t 10 minutes f stretching t cl dwn. This will increase the flexibility f yur muscles and will help prevent pst-exercise prblems. Exercise Frequency T maintain r imprve yur cnditin, cmplete three wrkuts each week, with at least ne day f rest between wrkuts.
