5 ACSM SPEAKERS Dr. Bill Dexter Dr. Dexter, a recipient of the Maine Governor s Council on Physical Activity Lifetime Achievement Award and EATA Moyer Award, is a past President of the American College of Sports Medicine, He is Director of the Sports Medicine Programme for Maine Medical Centre, Professor of Family Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and adjunct faculty at the University of Southern Maine, where he also serves as Head Team Physician and Medical Director for the Athletic Training programme. Dr. Rob Johnson Dr. Rob Johnson is a Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a team physician for University of Minnesota athletics and served as Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Centre in Minneapolis from 1987 to Currently Director Emeritus of the University of Minnesota Sports Medicine Fellowship, Dr. Johnson is also a Founder and past President of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Robert E. Sallis Dr. Sallis is a Past-President of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and currently chairs Exercise is Medicine, a joint initiative of ACSM and the American Medical Association. Currently working as a family physician at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, California, Dr. Sallis also serves as Co-Director of their Sports Medicine Fellowship and is a Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine. Dr. Bert Fields Dr. Karl Bert Fields is the Director of the Cone Health System Sports Medicine Fellowship in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is a Professor of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Board Certified in Family Medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Fields has been a past President of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and has been active in teaching sports medicine (and developing curriculum) at several prestigious American colleges and Academies.
