2 Class Descriptions CARDIO Dance, Flex, and Core - A multi-level dance class integrating core and muscle strength in fun full range of motion moves. Zumba Ditch the workout! Join the party! Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms & easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of -a-kind fitness program that will blow you away! BODYATTACK is the sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises. BODYSTEP is an energizing step workout. Using a heightadjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step you get huge motivation from sing-a-long music and approachable instructors. Cardio blocks push fat burning systems into high gear followed by muscle conditioning tracks that shape and tone your body. BODYCOMBAT - This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, tae kwon do, tai chi and muay thai. Line, Latin and Barre - Please join us for 20 minutes of Aerobic Dancing and 20 minutes of balance and core work (with the barre) followed by 5 minutes of stretch. Focus is on form and fun. Bring your groove and express yourself. All ages and levels are welcome! COMBINATION Cardio/Strength - This class combines strength training and power movements for a great aerobic and weight conditioning workout. A variety of tools are used for a fun, full body workout. Boot Camp - Group fitness class that combines elements of weightlifting, aerobic exercise, stability training, agility training and stretching. This class is High Energy and limits rest time between sets. Exercise modifications are available. HEAT (outside) - High Intensity Athletic Training. A total body outdoor workout where anything goes. Drills, lunges, calisthenics, plyometrics and agility training. A challenging workout for the high energy athlete in you! Reebok Core Training - An intense total body workout using the Reebok Core Board focusing on conditioning and strengthening core and stabilizing muscles. Total Body HIIT - A high intensity interval training workout that varies from week to week. Challenge the entire body s cardiovascular and muscular capabilities. The Challenge - A 90 min high-energy, calorie consuming, high intensity aerobic and core strengthening work-out that will push you to your limits. RIP Group Training - ($$ denotes extra fee for class) RIP Group Training utilizes a lever bar and resistance cord to provide a uniquie mix of rotation, core stability, control, power, strength, mobility, metabolic conditioning, balance and coordination challenges. Planet Kids - Promoting Loving Action Now in Everything That s Knowledge In Development of Self: Integration of the Golden Rule through social interaction and movement using the components of fitness & sports. Kids learn how nurturing a healthy lifestyle and developing community connections will help us in the quest to save our planet. Jeannette is an AMI (Montessori International) Directress and uses this philosophy during the class. Kids Yoga - By using animated postures and interactive games, the class gives kids the opportunity to stretch their bodies, use their imaginations and learn about yoga in a fun way. In this positive and non-judgmental environment, the child leaves class with a sense of well-being, and respect for others and themselves. Yoga/Boga for Kids - For children ages 5+ using stability balls for agility, focus, balance and fun! STRENGTH Barre - Classes begin with a warm up focusing on postural strength and alignment, followed by a series of upper body exercises using light weights. The ballet barre is used to sculpt the lower body, abs and for flexibility training. Then it is down to the mat with a fitball for core and a relaxing and invigorating final stretch. Body Sculpt - Improve muscular strength and endurance with resistance training exercises that target major muscles. Benefits include improved body alignment, balance, muscle toning, bone density, strength and symmetry. BODYPUMP - The original barbell class that strengthens your entire body! This choreographed weight class will challenge all your muscle groups using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. CXWORX - A 30 minute core workout that hones in on the torso and sling muscles that connect your upper body to your lower body. Ideal for tightening your abs and glutes, while also improving functional strength and assisting in injury prevention. SPIRIT, MIND & BODY - This class invites participants to work at their own level through breath awareness and gentle postures. We develop techniques for meditation and promotion of internal and external healing. Alignment Based Yoga - Close attention is paid to anatomical detals and alignment. Poses held for longer periods are often modified with props (blankets, blocks, straps and bolsters). This class systematically cultivates strength, flexibility, stability and awareness. Vinyasa Flow Yoga - Breath-synchronized movement sometimes called Meditation in Motion. The instructor will guide you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. The poses run together and become like a dance in conjunction with the breath. Pilates - An exercise system that focuses on improving flexibility and strength for the whole body. Please bring a yoga mat. Power Yoga - Experience intense yoga postures linked together using breath and motion to challenge your mind and body. A great way to take your yoga practice to the next level. Release Yoga Includes asanas (postures), pranayama (breath work) and ends with a guided meditation. 6 Class Descriptions ACTIVE OLDER ADULTS (AOA) - is a fun paddle sport that is a cross between ping pong and tennis. It can be played at a very low, slow level and at a very high competitive level. But the point is, it s fun! is a fantastic way to exercise and spend time with friends and family. WATER FITNESS - A core-based cardiovascular and muscular endurance workout using water as our resistance force. We incorporate the support and resistance of the water to enhance muscular endurance, strength, cardiovascular health and flexibility. The class is designed to fulfill all holistic needs and is perfect for healing joints, injury recovery, pregnancy and stress relief. All ages welcome. CARDIO - A non-impact indoor cycling class and a great alternative for aerobic conditioning. The ride is set to various types of music that will let your mind run free. The resistance knob gives you FULL CONTROL of your journey. Intro to Cycling - Learn the basics of bike set up and good riding form and technique. Line, Latin and Barre - Please join us for 20 minutes of Aerobic Dancing and 20 minutes of balance and core work (with the barre) followed by 5 minutes of stretch. Focus is on form and fun. Bring your groove and express yourself. All ages and levels are welcome! Zumba Gold(R) - is a specially designed low to moderate impact fitness class for active older adults and first timers based upon the same dance moves used in the original Zumba classes. There is a longer warm up and cool down to allow participants a program that imporves balance, flexibility and cardiovascular strength. COMBINATION CARDIO/STRENGTH SilverSneakers - Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support. SilverSneakers Cardio Fit - Get up and go with an aerobics class that is safe, heart-healthy and gentle on the joints. The workout includes easy to follow low impact movement and upper body strength, abdominal conditioing and stretching exercises designed to energize your active lifestlye. Enhance - Enhance is a 16-week program designed to reduce the risk of falls, improve cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, balance, flexibility and physical function. The class meets 3 times per week and utilizes ankle weights instead of dumbbells and elastic bands (no gripping required). Pre and post assessments will be performed to document progress and improvements. Registration at the Welcome Center is required. Class size is limited to 25 people. SPIRIT, MIND & BODY - A rejuvenating, relaxing workout using diaphragmatic breathing techniques with fluid movements of yoga postures. Stretch to Flexibility - This stretch class uses techniques that release excess tension while strengthening postural muscles that hold the body in balance. It corrects pain-causing habits, such as slouching, aids recovery from injury, and sharpens recreational and work performance.
