2 Fitness and Sport Tuesday Pilates Beginners / Back Care Starting 10 Sept 6-7pm 10 weeks The Beginners/Back Care session is for people who haven t done Pilates before or for those who have been advised to do it. The aim of these sessions is to improve posture, develop better balance, increase mobility of the spine and flexibility and strengthen core abdominal muscles. Good posture is very important for daily activities along with increased functional mobility that leads to strengthening weak imbalanced muscles in the abdominal region. This is an exciting class for anyone who wants to have a go and discover a whole new way of moving. All this will lead to you gaining confidence in your back once again. Both men and women find great pleasure in the feel good feeling this class offers. Pilates Matwork 7-8pm 10 weeks The Matwork session closely follows the original Pilates moves and principles. It is a great workout that will help you change the way you look, the way you feel and the way you move. If you want a new body reshaped, rebalanced and realigned a stronger, longer, leaner more mobile body then this class is for you. We use various pieces of equipment that add variety and interest to each session. The class is suitable for people who ve done Pilates before through to advanced students through a layered teaching technique with many levels for each exercise.

3 Skills for Life Wednesday ZUMBA 3.00 per session pm Zumba is a dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez in Colombia during the 1990s. The program combines Latin and international music with dance in an effort to make exercise fun. Many experts believe that an interval/resistance combination maximizes caloric output, fat burning, and total body toning... ICT Tuesday Computing for Absolute Beginners 6-8pm 8 weeks 30 Introduction to Computers & Microsoft Word This course presumes that you have little or no experience in using a PC (personal computer). New skills and terminology will gradually be introduced to expand your computing knowledge and we ll have fun along the way! Microsoft Word will be used to gain word processing skills and topics covered will introduce you to using a mouse confidently, creating folders to store your work on to, creating new documents using a range of formatting functions and printing your documents. Step by step guidance will be given to assist you to access the internet and new terminology will be used to expand your internet awareness and to help you research information independently. Microsoft Hotmail will be used to gain ing skills and topics covered will introduce you to reading new messages, creating new s and sending them, printing out s, storing s in folders, replying and forwarding s. Handouts will be provided, although you may wish to bring a pen to make additional notes.

4 Tuesday African Drumming Weeks pm Djembe, Dun Dun & Song Starting 10 September Open to all levels, (beginners to advanced) this course will cover the techniques of the djembe (hand drum), the 3 dun duns (bass drums) and will also include Mandinka singing. You will learn to play traditional rhythms including signals, accompaniments, bass lines and songs. We will cover breaks and solo parts as well as techniques towards building confidence and finding your personal voice as a drummer. Ideally you should have your own djembe but some drums can be provided. Please contact DM in advance if you require one for the course. Spanish for Absolute Beginners Starting 24 September Tuesday 7-9pm 10 Weeks 55 Cristina Solana, who is a native from Spain, will run this fun and friendly course for absolute beginners, covering the language used in everyday life. This term topics will include greetings, giving and asking personal information, food, drink and shopping. Students will also have the opportunity to request topics they would like to cover. The emphasis will be mainly on speaking and listening skills using a variety of games and role play activities in a relaxed atmosphere, so when you next go to a Spanish speaking country and try to make conversation with the locals, it won't feel like you are jumping in at the deep end! 5 Tuesday Yoga starting 10 Sept Tuesday 6-7pm 10 weeks 50 Conscious Yoga Introduction to Beginners level In this 10 week course you will learn how to improve flexibility in body and mind, using techniques taught, on asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), self-awareness and some meditation learning how to unite these together for a whole integrated experience. Yoga is renowned for helping you to relax and lead a calmer more positive life, it s benefits are endless, and likely will surprise you as to how it can make changes in your life even with just a little practise. Yoga is a journey which leads you into amazing experiences and opportunities, its foundations are over 5000 years old and its techniques have been widely tried and tested, it works! So if this appeals to you, what are you waiting for, get ready for action and come and join us, if you already have some experience in yoga this too is the class for you, if you see yourself as a beginner you ll always have been more room to grow. Our true nature is a state of inner peace or ananda (bliss) if you would like to have a taste start practising yoga with us. BELLYDANCE FOR BEGINNERS starting 10 sept Tuesday 7-8pm 10 weeeks 50 Bellydance is a graceful, feminine, earthy form of dance which encompasses many styles from around the Middle East. It is suitable for ladies of all sizes, from the slender to the voluptuous, and all ages. You will learn basic Egyptian bellydance techniques, mainly through a series of simple dances so that you can see how the moves link together and how they reflect a certain aspect of the music. The class is relaxed and informal, so you will have fun learning whilst toning muscles without heavy impact on the joints. Bare feet or soft, ballet-type shoes are fine. Wear loose, comfortable clothing (a long skirt if possible). If you have something fancy to tie round your hips, please bring it with you, but I can lend veils which will double up as hip scarves.

We will have trainers on site that will arrange your first assessment and guide you through your training. This will be let on a first come basis as numbers will have to be limited to give all a chance to try the equipment.
