2 THE PFTA ADVANTAGE Accredited Certification Upon graduation, you will have an opportunity to earn an accredited certification that will be accepted by 99.9% of the gyms nationwide. Along with the Personal Trainer Certification, you ll also receive a Sports Nutrition Certification. Hands-on Training Would you trust your surgeon or dentist that only had an online experience? Why would anyone trust a trainer with only an online certification? Our certified professional instructors will teach you the proper technique behind the various exercises including the explanation of the joint action and primary muscles. Get in the best shape of your life while learning how to exercise the right way! Small Classes Our small classes and low instructor to student ratio make it a great learning experience. The students are part of the discussion and are not just getting lectured. There are many questions throughout the class and you will have a knowledgeable instructor who will gladly answer all your questions before class, during class, and after class. E-Learning The best part of our school is the hands-on training. But along with the class time and the gym time, you will also be provided with online learning material including notes, videos, quizzes, and flash cards for your convenience. We give you all the tools necessary to be successful! Advanced Curriculum You will be hard pressed to find a curriculum (especially online) that covers all the material we cover in class. We are always adding new material to the class to keep up with changes in exercise science and sports nutrition. Job Placement Assistance Gym and other fitness businesses call us almost every day looking for PFTA Trainers. We ll point you in the right direction!

3 CLASS ROOM DISCUSSION Fitness Assessments You will learn how to assess and test fellow students and future clients in muscular strength, muscular endurance, muscular flexibility, cardiorespiratory fitness, and body fat percentage. Assessments may be done throughout the course to record baseline scores and improvements. Sports Nutrition From your first day of class, you will be learning how your body responds to various diets. You will also be able to calculate your metabolism and create meal plans which include the proper amounts of fats, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, and sports supplements. Program Design The discussion will include how to design cardiovascular workouts and resistance training workouts for yourself and your clients. Included in the discussions are optimum ways to improve strength, hypertrophy, endurance, and balance. Other subjects include functional training and power training. Anatomy and Physiology The notes will include explanations on the various systems of the body working together to optimize your exercise sessions including the nervous system, muscular system, skeletal system, and endocrine system

5 COURSE OVERVIEW We are not a prep school! You will graduate our program with a Personal Trainer certification and a Sports Nutrition certification. Students must be 18 years of age or older to enroll. Students under 18 can enroll with a parent s signature. Students must pass all exams with a 70% or better in order to graduate AND must attend 70% of class time. Job placement assistance is provided for all graduates.
