3 From the President Aileen Patterson Another half year has come and gone with another ½ year to come, hope you all enjoy. We will have some more exciting things happening, Cent Auctions, Games and Entertainment and maybe another Bus Trip. I would like to thank all who have helped make the Club great, also the kitchen staff for making great sandwiches, which have always been yummy and the Guys who do the BBQ for Cent Auction, another great job. Also I would like to thank Jenny for all her help and support to the committee and all who have helped make the club what it is. I will wish you all a Happy Christmas and hope that you all have a great New Year and will join us again in 2017.Best wishes to all, Aileen Patterson. From Vice-President - Jenny Purnell This year has moved along quickly, it will be Christmas in no time at all. Thank you everyone who has helped during the year, every little bit helps and we have such a great group of helpers. Bruce and I are travelling again and will bring back some good photos for you. We have some new and interesting Guest speakers and entertainers. Do also hope you join in our members concert. The Hall s Country and Western should be great this year, bring a friend and come along. Saturday 23 rd July starting 1pm. Wishing you all a wonderful Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. From the President

4 LIBRARY BOOK If you are interested in the books in our library, please ask one of the committee to unlock the cupboards, there is a tremendous assortment of books for you to choose from. There is a book for you to sign, when taking out books. Marion Proctor will be teaching card making and Dorothea has agreed to help those interested in making paper and bead craft. If someone is interested in taking a class to help others make items please see Aileen, Jenny or Beverley and we will help set it up. A few concerts with members for members will be held this year, please see Beverley if you would like to join her group and have fun, smile awhile and be happy entertaining the other members of the club. From The Kitchen Don t forget to keep your cup from morning tea for lunch, as this helps the ladies with the washing up and also saves our money for more useful things. Here is the phone number to call to have your phone, mobile phone, and home phone registered on the Don t Call List keeps your phone free from nuisance calls for 8 years. Another thing. When calling Telstra directory Dial it is free.

5 Bus Trips Shirley The bus trips soon to be on the board have to be paid by one month before due date so as to enable us to hire a bus. The cost of bus hire is $880/$1300 for up to 50, knowing how many are going we can bargain for special prices. We do want to keep the price down. For non-members and those who have not been to the club 12 times in the first few months it will cost $35. a trip Please do not ask for any changes or exceptions. Tickets cannot be purchased by one person for another knowing they have not attended 12 times, nor can you give your ticket to someone if you find you can t go. We will have a register of those who have paid, so please keep your receipt in case it is needed. All Bus trips from now on will be $25 per person for cost of bus only, buy/bring your own lunch. With the AGM coming up anyone wishing to become a committee member, please let one of the existing committee members know. Any person wishing to help in any way: Kitchen: making sandwiches, helping with tea and coffee washing up, drying cups and plates sweeping floor, helping with Newsletter, Country and Western. It takes a lot of hands to keep a club running well so think about being one who makes a difference.

6 Line dancing: by Lloyd Schulz and Estelle White. Line dancing will continue under the supervision of Lloyd Schulz every Monday 12pm for a cost of $4. If already present $2. Judy Ricci Tai Chi and Gentle Exercise Classes Here we are at the end of another year-already- where did the time go!!! Our exercise group can now enjoy their Christmas dinners with less guilt, having put in a year of hard sweaty workouts with Commando Jude. Well, not quite, but we did have plenty of laughs, which is said to really good for weight loss and muscle toning. That s our story and we re sticking to it. Classes will be starting up again on the 7 th February 2016 Tai Chi at 9.am and Gentle Exercise at 10.15am. Our Gentle Exercise class really is very gentle, with seated exercises to suit any age or level of fitness, plus some standing ones where you can hold onto your chair but still get a good workout. We use stretch bands as well for resistance, to help keep bones and muscle strong. Tai Chi is also suitable for everyone as it s slow and gentle. It offers a bit more of a challenge for the mind as it helps on that level as well, and is great for balance, relaxation and breathing. University studies have shown that Tai Chi aids in controlling and preventing Type 2 diabetes. Please join us this year for one or both classes. We have great fun and morning tea afterwards (providing the Monday Coffee and Chat group has left us some in the fridge). Keep yourselves safe and well, have a wonderful Christmas, and hopefully we ll see you all next year. Judy Ricca.
