2 An exclusive fitness centre Managed by Health Systems Group, the Livingston Club Fitness Centre is an industry leading service provider. Our Group Exercise, Personal Training, and Customer Service rival the best that Calgary has to offer. And our members confirm this with consistently high satisfaction ratings. The Livingston Club Fitness Centre is for the exclusive use of Livingston Place tenants. Once you complete a Fitness Centre Orientation Session and applicable forms, your building security badge will be programmed to provide you with ongoing access to the Fitness Centre which is located on the second floor of the West Tower. Our 7000 sq. ft. facility has state-of-the-art fitness equipment and a large studio space for a variety of classes and personal training. The Centre features Matrix cardiovascular machines, Technogym selectorized resistance and a variety of free weight, stability and functional equipment. Selected programming is also available including personal training and group training. Fitness Centre Registration All users of the Fitness Centre will be required to complete a brief orientation session with the Fitness Centre staff and must complete all applicable membership forms. The minute orientation session will review basic procedures, give an overview of the facility and equipment available, as well as allowing time for questions. Please be advised that the orientation session is mandatory as the fitness centre is not always staffed. Click here to download the Membership package. Be sure to complete all forms, including signatures and witnesses. Then schedule an appointment for the orientation session by contacting the Livingston Club Fitness Centre staff at or livingstonfitness@bentallkennedy.com. Group Fitness Classes A variety of classes are held at the fitness centre. All group exercise classes are led by certified instructors. Members who wish to participate in group exercise programs will be required to register and pay a fee. To view available classes, schedules and times for registration, click on the link below, or stop by the fitness centre and talk to the staff about upcoming classes. Registration is on a first come first served basis for each session, and must be done in person at the Fitness Centre during staffed hours. Payment is required at the time of registration. All classes are self-paced, which means that you determine the intensity that is best for you. It s easy just listen to your body. We encourage you to exercise according to your fitness level. state-of-the-art fitness equipment and a large studio space

3 Livingston Club Fitness Centre A fully equipped facility Locker Rooms The fitness centre locker rooms are set up to provide all the amenities needed for working out. These include: private showers with hair/body soap, Kleenex, towels, hair dryers, and curling/straightening irons, as well as magazines and daily newspapers. Lockers are only available for fitness centre members when they are using the fitness centre. They are not available for day use or overnight storage. If you want to secure your locker, you will need to supply your own lock. For Bikers and Runners Running and walking are considered the most basic and natural aerobic exercises. Requiring very little equipment, running and walking provide many health benefits including improving the functioning of the heart and cardiovascular system, maintaining or improving body composition, and helping to increase mental functioning while reducing stress levels. The Bow River Parkway is located just a couple of blocks north of Livingston Place and provides a variety of routes suited to any level of runner. Bike Cage The Livingston Place Bike Cage is located on the P1 level of the Parkade. Enter through the parkade doors, follow the Cyclist signs to the P1 level Bike Cage, and swipe your card to gain access. Bring your own lock to secure your bike once inside. P1 Shower/Locker Rooms All Livingston Place tenants have access to the P1 Shower/Locker Rooms, including towel service. You will need to swipe your card to enter. The lockers are for day use only. Be sure to bring your own lock. Please read the terms of use for the shower/locker rooms which are posted at the entrance. 4 Staffing and hours of operation The fitness centre is only available for Livingston Place tenants, and only after they have completed registering with a fitness centre staff person. For liability reasons, no spouses, children or guests are allowed to use the facility at any time. Hours of Operation Monday Friday Weekends and holidays 4:00 am 8:00 pm 6:00 am 4:00 pm Staff members are available in the Fitness Centre: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 7:00 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday and Thursday: 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Staffed hours are subject to change without notice We want to hear from you! If you re just looking for a new program design, one of our trainers will customize an exercise program based entirely on your fitness needs and time constraints. If you want more help, multiple sessions provide motivation and on-going feedback, continually assessing your strength, endurance and flexibility in essence improving the effectiveness of your workouts. No matter what your needs and goals, personal trainers can provide you with a safe, informative and results-oriented environment in which to exercise. 6 Personal training staff Steve Johnson Education: Bachelor of Kinesiology with Distinction, University of Victoria; Certification: CPT (CSEP) Having grown up on Vancouver Island, I have always loved the adventures that the outdoors offer. The mountains outside of Calgary are my playground; whether it is hiking, camping, x-c skiing, snowshoeing, river surfing, or trail running, I train for all activities. I moved to Calgary in 2005 and have been personal training ever since. I recently have taken up the sport of Parkour, this discipline places tremendous emphasis on total body conditioning. I bring this focus to every one of my training sessions. No matter what your goal, focusing on conditioning the whole body and mind will significantly enhance your results. Curtiss Matson Education: B.Sc., Exercise and Health Physiology, University of Calgary. Certification: CEP, CSCS, AFLCA resistance training I come from a sporting background that includes playing hockey, basketball, squash, baseball and any other game I could find. Since I started in the fitness field, I have worked with many people of all levels (from beginners to elite athletes) and from a variety of backgrounds. I recently returned from a 6 month deployment embedded with the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan where I was reminded of the importance of the classic training styles. Since returning home, I have started taking a more hybrid approach to training incorporating both classic and more modern exercises and techniques, to return to a system of truly functional training.. Ross Williams Education: B.A (UPEI); PFT Diploma (NAIT) Certification: CPT (CSEP) While chasing a degree in Political Studies, I discovered the benefits of healthy living through exercise. This change in lifestyle eventually led me into the fitness industry, where I ve been for the past seven years. I began my studies at Mount Royal College, and recently upgraded to a Personal Fitness Trainer diploma from NAIT. I believe that fitness is a vital part of the overall health of the individual physically, psychologically and emotionally and hope my example can help and inspire others.. Braden Wemaas Education: Bachelor of Kinesiology, University of Saskatchewan; Certification: CPT My mission is to help each and every client to improve their quality of life so that they can not only live better, but also thrive in all aspects of life. I know the importance of fitness and activity in maintaining body, mind and spirit. My workouts are designed to keep clients of all ages focused on achieving their fitness goals through energetic, fun and dynamic workouts that include exercises that utilize each energy system to burn calories, while building lean muscle with appropriate strength training. I am passionate about sport and fitness and my personal interests include hockey above all, as well as hiking, snowboarding, camping, and fishing.
