EXCAVATOR LEARNING PROGRAM Detailed learning program for the excavator, on multi-machines platforms Non-binding documents
ACREOS SIMULATION OBJECTIVES EXCAVATOR This simulation pack developed by Acreos offers a complete learning experience for the operation and functions of an excavator. Multiple exercises allow trainees to acquire knowledge and skills in a simple way with increasing levels of difficulty. HOW IT WORKS The learning of the operation and functions of the equipment is made up of several modules, divided into 3 to 6 series of exercises. Each series is then divided into 3 to 20 exercises. Number of modules : 24 (Each module focuses on different aspects of the operation of an excavator). Number of exercises per module : From 10 to more than 60 exercises. According to the module, the exercises have similar or progressive levels of difficulty. This way, the trainee follows a defined learning program, without starting again systematically from the first exercise of the module. THE ACREOS SOLUTION Gsta The GSTA software (Trainees learning management software), manages trainees learning process and progress. The trainee s learning progression is managed through each module and each series of exercises by preventing the trainee to move from one module (or exercise) to the next, unless it has been completed. This allows for a step-by-step learning process and builds trainees muscle memory.
LEARNING MODULES The excavator learning program is made up of 24 modules : MODULE 0 OUTSIDE VIEW Objective : Manipulate the different controls (joysticks and pedals) and watch the equipment react from an outside view. This module has no exercise. MODULE 1 PRE-OPERATIONAL INSPECTION Objective : Perform a pre-operation inspection of the machine, in order to identify any problems before start-up. - Number of exercises : 9 - Duration of each exercise : From 10 to 15 minutes MODULE 2 LEARNING THE MACHINE CONTROLS Objective : To get familiar with, and develop hand-eye coordination on the machine controls. - Series of exercises : 6 - Number of exercises : Duration of each exercise : From 3 to 15 seconds
MODULE 3 DRIVING FORWARD - FRAME POSITIONING Objective : Learn to operate the machine forward and position the frame in a defined zone. - Series of exercises : 6 - Number of exercises : 30 - Duration of each exercise : From 1 to 3 minutes MODULE 4 DRIVING BACKWARD - FRAME POSITIONING Objective : Learn to operate the machine backward and position the frame in a defined zone. - Series of exercises : 6 - Number of exercises : 30 - Duration of each exercise : From 1 to 3 minutes MODULE 5 BUCKET POSITIONING Objective : Learn to operate the machine s various axis and joints to position the bucket in a target area. - Number of exercises : 80
MODULE 6 FOLLOW A LINEAR TRAJECTORY Objective : Learn to operate the machine to follow a linear flat line with the bucket. - Number of exercises : 80 MODULE 7 FOLLOW A LINEAR TRAJECTORY WITH A CONSTANT ANGLE OF ATTACK Objective : Learn to operate the machine to follow a linear flat line with the bucket at a constant angle of attack. - Number of exercises : 60 MODULE 8 FOLLOW AN INCLINED LINEAR TRAJECTORY Objective : Learn to operate the machine to follow an inclined linear flat line with the bucket. - Number of exercises : 60
MODULE 9 FOLLOW AN INCLINED LINEAR TRAJECTORY WITH A CONSTANT ANGLE OF ATTACK Objective : Learn to operate the machine to follow an inclined linear flat line with the bucket at a constant angle of attack. - Number of exercises : 60 MODULE 10 FOLLOW A CURVED LINE FORWARD AND BACKWARD Objective : Follow a curved line with the arm axis (without turret rotation). - Number of exercises : 80 MODULE 11 FOLLOW A LATERAL CURVED LINE Objective : Follow a curved line with the arm axis and turret rotation. - Number of exercises : 80
MODULE 12 LOADING THE MACHINE ON A LOWBOY TRAILER Objective : Learn how to operate the excavator in order to climb onto a lowboy trailer and position it safely. - Number of exercises : 40 MODULE 13 CROSS OVER OBSTACLES Objective : Learn to operate the excavator to cross over various slopes, embankments or trenches safely. - Number of exercises : 45 MODULE 14 CHANGE THE BUCKET Objective : Learn how to change buckets. - Number of exercises : 40
