2 DEFENSIVE PATTERNED POSITIONS FIGHT & FLIGHT vs. REST & DIGEST Jaw muscles clench and tighten to prevent mandible from traumatic removal. This is a food survival technique. Pancreas activates rapid intake of blood glucose for effective energy. Digestive system shuts down via the sympathetic nervous system as blood is required in the musculoskeletal system. Reproductive system increases its activity in an effort to fulfill basic instinct of survival of the race. Thyroid reduces its output in an effort to keep the body cooler. Muscles tighten along the spine to protect the spinal cord and CNS subconsciously. Rapid productions of adrenaline via the adrenal glands for fight or flight. Sacrum tucks to protect the brain and spinal cord. The superficial fascia tightens to protect the skeletal muscles from injury, bruising and blood loss. 2
