2 SPINNING Class Descriptions Spring 2017 CHECK OUT NEW SCHEDULES MONTHLY COASTAL.EDU/RECREATION CARDIO FITNESS LEAN AND MEAN: This high-energy interval class combines strength training and cardiovascular conditioning. This class supports muscle toning, fat loss, endurance and abdominal training using cardio, strength and stabilization exercises. HIP HOP DON'T STOP A fun, energetic class for all levels. Work your entire body while learning choreography to old school and today's hip hop hits. You will get your swag and sweat on! I.T.V Interval Training- Interval training has never been this much fun! Join in for a mixture of muscle conditioning and high energy hitt and tabata cardio( 8 rounds: 20 second high intensity training and 10 seconds active rest) exercises that will shape and define. Class format will vary so expect the unexpected! The Hiit approach to exercise is very physically demanding and not appropriate for beginners. OUTDOOR BOOTCAMP: A full body workout that combines cardio and strength training. Take a break from your inside routine and come exercise in the fresh, spring air. POUND Fit -This class is a total body cardio workout. Groove to the beat of the music with choreographed moves for 45 minutes, through cardio & total body conditioning using drumsticks called Ripstix! Space is limited to 15 so make sure you come early! ZUMBA This fun class utilizes interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps. FUNCTIONAL TRAINING (FITNESS FLOOR - "THE JUNGLE GYM") FUNctional Circuits - Using the TRX training system alongside other equipment to provide a variety of circuits to get strong & lean! JUNGLE GYM CHALLENGE: Using all the fun training tools, the jungle gym and it's monkey bars, learn some fun new tricks to add to your workout bag! Promises to be fun, intense and quick! Must bring towel and water bottle! LUNCHTIME CYLE Get a workout on your lunch break minute ride. CYCLE CINEMA: Join the fun! Let's watch "The Bachelor" while burning some calories together! We'll see if we can't predict who gets the final rose! SPINNING An amazing 60 min journey, riding towards better health and fitness. Simulates true cycling in an indoor environment, designed for all fitness levels. SPIN EXPRESS minute heart pumping time on the bike. MIND/BODY STRENGTH AB BLAST Learn proper form & technique for strong core development in this ABSolutely awesome class. Faculty/Staff Strength: A complete strength workout, hitting all your muscles to make you a lean machine. TOTAL BODY SCULPTING: Define, tone and strengthen your total body. All types of equipment is used for a challenging and fun workout! ALL Fitness Levels are welcome. TIGHTEN & TONE: This class focuses on working total body to help you get lean and toned! CARDIOYOGA A brisk paced class to keep the heart rate elevated while strengthening & lengthening muscles. This class is perfect for all those looking to improve their flexibility, but have a hard time holding still long enough for a traditional yoga class. HATHA YOGA A yoga experience that focuses on the heart center and alignment in each pose to get maximal stretch and postures. All levels welcome. BASIC PILATES/Pilates The primary focus is on awareness of the spine, proper breathing, core strength and flexibility. The outcome of Pilates training is a balanced body which is strong and supple, flat stomach, balanced legs, and a strong back. POWER FLOW YOGA Focus is on building strength and spinal alignment through the use of the breath, core and postures. Classes will include warm-up sun salutations, standing postures, lunges, balance work, ab work, twisting and light back-bending. All classes finish with a quiet, reclined relaxation period. SUNRISE YOGA (Thurs) Gentle morning yoga to wake up the mind + body, more focus on the mind and sun salutations. SUNRISE YOGA(Mon & Wed) is a way to start the day right. It features light vinyasa stlye flows, deep stretches and seated meditation. We will be practicing facing the widows to watch the beauty of the day unfold. YIN YOGA Focuses on increasing flexibility rather than the strength building of more yang styles. It opens the fascia and connective tissues of the body using long hold times and deep breathing. This is a great balance to strength building activities and a meditative practice that will melt away the stress of the day. YOGA FOR SELF-EMPOWERMENT -A class that teaches you to trust, love, and connect with your body. It will focus on connecting the breath, mind, body and soul. This class will teach you the basic positions of yoga as well as modifications for the more advanced. YOGA FOR STRENGTH & BALANCE Combination of Ashtanga, &, yoga styles. This class focuses on alignment, breathing,& balance. Participants of all levels are welcome & should expect a lighthearted, but physically challenging experience. YOGA:Focused for Beginners: We will build strength and flexibility with basic postures & work to perfect new ones. Yoga will test your body to new limits. We will try new things and freestyle along the way.
