4 Swimming I practise, consolidate and refine my skills to improve my performance. I am developing and sustaining my levels of fitness. HWB 3-22a I can perform a push and glide in a streamlined position for 5 meters. I can kick continuously throughout the front crawl & breast stroke or whilst using an aid. I can perform an effective arm pull technique for both front crawl & breast stroke I can breathe to the side without lifting my head out of the water for front crawl I can dive into the water in a streamlined action from a standing position. I can cooperate with others I can tread water for a minute I understand the importance of the pool safety rules. *

HWB 3-22a I can accelerate in the run up, take off one foot and land on two in the long jump I can successfully perform a scissors technique in high jump I can push the shot forward and upwards from my neck in the shot putt I can transfer my weight from back to front foot and land the javelin tip first I can co-operate with others during relay by transferring & receiving the baton in a relay I can take responsibility for measuring and timing performances I can demonstrate basic hurdling technique in a practice situation I can pace myself effectively over a long distance

I contribute to groups and teams through my knowledge of individual strengths, group tactics, and strategies. HWB 3-23a I can play the chest and bounce passes When receiving the pass I can stop with the ball within the rules I can mark a player on the opposite team I can defend the ball while staying 3ft away I can lose my defender to receive a pass I know how to start the game within the rules using the centre pass I can play in different netball positions (knowing the roles of each position and what areas they are allowed on the court) I recognise others strengths and respect all individuals within my team I know that I can only hold the ball for 3 seconds

HWB 3-21a I can perform all the bicycle safety checks I can use both front and back brakes to control the speed of the bicycle I can stop with control from different situations I know how to select and use the appropriate gear in all terrain I can control and steer the bicycle round obstacles I can look behind, perform hand signals whilst maintaining control I am able to maintain a safe cycling distance when working in groups I am confident on slopes and hills I understand basic safety rules for cycling on the road

HWB 3-24a I can convey information, describe events, explain processes or concepts, and combine ideas in different ways. LIT 3-28a You now have the task of creating a newspaper style report based on your experience from the end of block tournament you have just participated in. This report should be informative and structured in sentences and paragraphs. As well as an introduction and a conclusion the report should include some or all of the following ideas: - TEAM NAMES - NAMES OF THE PLAYERS IN YOUR TEAM - WHAT HAPPENED IN EACH GAME - WHO SCORED IN EACH GAME (FOR BOTH TEAMS) - WHAT SKILLS WERE USED e.g. passing, dribbling, shooting - WHO PLAYED WELL IN DEFENCE / ATTACK - SCORE IN EACH GAME AND OVERALL POSITION IN THE TOURNAMENT The report should be approximately one page of A4 paper in length and be completed neatly in pen/pencil or on a computer as the report may be displayed within the PE department. Use the box below to record notes to help you to write your report. If you are unsure of the task or need some help then please come and see your PE teacher before the report is due and they will be happy to give you some advice. Notes
