2 Needs Assessment Headache and facial pain are highly prevalent conditions. Better understanding of the underlying mechanisms, diagnosis, co-morbidities and advances in headache and facial pain management will lessen the personal, interpersonal, and economic burden of these common co-morbidities for patients and society. Course Description The goal of this course is to provide a forum for the presentation of up-to-date information in the field of headache and facial pain utilizing a diverse and comprehensive approach. Objectives Target Audience This program is specifically designed for physicians, dentists, mid-level practitioners, nurses, and other allied health professionals who are interested in the treatment and management of patients with headache. Upon completion of this symposium, participants will be able to: Identify clinical perspectives on the assessment and treatment of headache Evaluate strategies to treat acute headache attacks Formulate management of refractory headaches Differentiate sports-related headaches Distinguish between high and low intracranial pressure headaches Summarize updated information regarding the relationship between headache and sleep Describe the clinical presentation of oromandibular dystonia Assess the role of botulinum neurotoxins in cervical dystonia and chronic headache Explain interventional headache management treatment, including peripheral nerve blockade and Neuromodulation
