30 Class Effect Is it a Myth? Or Real? I would say mostly YES It is real The primary pharmacologic effect dominates But DOSE MATTERS! Pleiotropic effects could explain differences Some most apparent differences between drugs may relate more to trial and patient population differences than in the drug. We thus use the drugs at the doses tested in trials that show benefit.
