1 1st Annual Multimodality Cardiovascular Imaging Conference Friday, November 2, :00 am to 5:15 pm JW Marriott Essex House New York A CME Conference designated for 6.75 AMA PRA Category I credits.
2 Statement of need: Noninvasive cardiac imaging is undergoing rapid technological change, resulting in improved visualization of the structures and function of the heart. Coronary CTA provides critically necessary information for early intervention in the progression of obstructive disease, and has increased facility of performance of interventions for structural and congenital heart disease. Cardiac MRI has become the gold standard for diagnosing and treating complex cardiac disease processes, such as pulmonary hypertension and heart failure. Applications in computational mathematics have provided opportunities to view cardiac performance in four dimensions, now including the ability to look at the rate of blood flow over time. Advances in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology are equally exciting and valuable to the management of complex coronary and structural heart diseases. This conference will bring experts from all major noninvasive and invasive cardiovascular imaging disciplines together to share their state of the art imaging technology. The conference will review current recommendations for appropriate use of each modality, present technological advances and assessments of how these advances influence patient medical and financial outcomes; and provide hands-on introductory training for the more advanced imaging technologies. Through lectures, panel discussions and Q&A, participants, including both specialists and generalists, will gain new insights into the current technology in multi-modality noninvasive and invasive cardiovascular imaging, and will improve their overall knowledge of current applications of various cutting edge imaging technologies. Program objectives: All CME activities are intended to improve patient care, safety and outcomes. At the conclusion of this conference participants should be able to: Summarize the latest cardiac noninvasive and invasive imaging technologies, their diagnostic accuracy and their advantages and disadvantages for improving patient outcomes. Determine appropriate imaging studies for specific medical conditions and incorporate these considerations into clinical practice. Discuss various cardiac imaging modalities and how these options impact on clinical decision making. Compare and contrast the risks/benefits of non-invasive anatomical vs. functional testing vs. invasive testing procedures in the assessment of heart disease. Target audience: Medical and Business Professionals in Cardiology, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Internal Medicine, Cardio Thoracic Surgery, Computed Coronary Tomography Angiography, Echo, Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Administrators, Financial Managers, Information Technology Professionals. CME accreditation: is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit designation: designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Verification of attendance: Will be provided to all professionals. Location: JW Marriott Essex House New York 160 Central Park South, New York, NY (212) Course offering and registration fees: Physicians $200 RNs, PAs, NPs and others $100 Fellows and Residents $50 On-site registration $250 Register online at Northwell.edu/cme Registration fee will include: CME/Verification transcripts, course materials, breakfast, AM/PM breaks, and lunch.
