Merr. & L.M.Perry, Cinnamomum verum Presl, Elettaria cardamomum (L.)Maton, Cinnamomum tamala (Buch.-Ham) Nees & Eberm.,
4 4 Mesua nagassarium (Burm. F.) Kosterm and Piper longum L. are used as presheba suranam and mixed with the decoction and kept for fermentation. After filtration 6 gm of Abelmoschus moschatus Medicus is added. Note In Kadhanikragam this arishta is noted as dasamoolasava. Some difference is noted in the preparation. Tragia plukenetii Radcl. Sm. Quantity is only 600 gm (not 576 gm). Nigella sativa L., Piper longum L., Areca catechu L., Curcuma zedoaria (Christm.) Roscoe and Prunus cerasoides D. Don are not involved in the decoction. In presheba susranam, Myristica fragrans Houtt. amount is 104 gm. This arishta is recommended as a general tonic and restorative for women. This is a rich nerve tonic formula with strong stimulant action. Dasamoola has an ability to act on a wide range of health problems. Those caused by both vata and kapha among the claims made by the Sarngadhara Samhita is that dasamoolarishta nourishes the lean, stimulates the ojas and gives progeny to the childless. It is an excellent tonic for convalescence and general debility restoring health and vitality; it is recommended for cardiac disorders, respiratory diseases, asthma, breathing troubles, cough, pneumonia, gastric irritation and anemia. Bitter tonic alterative and stimulant, useful in cough, menonervous disease, consumption, anaemia, jaundice, and piles and as a parental tonic. 4. Datriarishta Ref. Saraka samhita Well matured fruits (2000 numbers) of Emblica offcinalis Gaertn. is collected and the juice is extracted then add, half part honey and 96 gm of Piper longum L.and kg of sugar and then allowed for fermentation. The prescribed amount is 15 ml after meals. This arishta is used as an appetizer and for digestive, carminative, haematinie and mildly laxative, used in anaemia, jaundice, diabetes hiccup and also in intermittent fevers.

R.Br., Merremia turpethum Rendle, Valeriana wallichii DC., Curcuma longa L., Coscinium fenestratum Colebr., Alpinia galanga L.Sw, Embelia ribes Burm.f., Cyperus rotundus L.,Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth, Acacia catechu (L.f.) Willd., Terminalia arjuna Wight & Arn, 384 gm of Trachyspermum ammi (L.) Sprague, Wrightia tinctoria (Roxb.) R.Br., Santalum album L., Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Hook. f & Thomson, Picrorhiza scrophulariiflora Pennell, Plumbago zeylanica L.are powdered and made into decoction using litres of water and concentrated into one half of decoction. Then, add 768 gm of Woodfordia fruticosa (L.)Kurz., kg of honey, 96 gm of Piper longum L., Piper nigrum L., Zingiber officinale Roscoe, 48 gm of Elettaria cardamomum (L.)Maton, bark of Cinnamomum verum Presl, flowers of Cinnamomum verum Presl, Mesua nagassarium (Burm. F.) Kosterm, 192 gm of Callicarpa macrophylla Vahl. and 96 gm of Mesua nagassarium (Burm. F.) Kosterm and kept for fermentation.. This arishta is good for diabetes, rheumatic complaints, grahani, piles, stangury, skin diseases, etc. 6. Draksharishta 1 Ref. Sarngadhra Samhita, Bhaishajya Ratnavali, Kadhanikragam and Yogaratnagaram Dry fruits of Vitis vinifera L. (2.400 kg) is made as decoction using 30 litres of water and cocentrated into one fourth of decoction kg of jaggery, 48 gm of Cinnamomum verum Presl, Elettaria cardamomum (L.)Maton, Cinnamomum tamala (Buch.-Ham) Nees & Eberm., Mesua nagassarium (Burm. F.) Kosterm, Callicarpa macrophylla Vahl., Piper longum L., Piper nigrum L., Embelia ribes Burm.f., are powdered and mixed with the 240 gm of Woodfordia fruticosa (L.)Kurz. and kept for fermentation.
6 6 This arishta is recommended for constipation, indigestion and to improve concentration and as blood toner. Draksharishta 2 Ref. Sarngadhra Samhita, Kadhanikragam and Yogaratnagaram. This type of draksharishta is called as Mridvigasava. Dry fruits of Vitis vinifera L. (4.800 kg) is made into decoction using litres of water and concentrated into one fourth of decoction. Then, add 4800 gm of Sugar, 4800 gm of honey, 768 gm of Woodfordia fruticosa (L.)Kurz., each of 48 gm of Piper cubeba L.f., Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merr. & L.M.Perry, Myristica fragrans Houtt., Piper nigrum L., bark of Cinnamomum verum Presl, flowers of Cinnamomum verum Presl, Elettaria cardamomum (L.)Maton, Mesua nagassarium (Burm. F.) Kosterm, Piper longum L., Plumbago zeylanica L., Piper nigrum L., Piper longum L., Piper attenuatum Buch..Ham.ex Wall. are mixed with them and allowed for fermentation. After fermentation 12 gm of Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl is mixed with the arishta. This method of preparation is used for grahani, piles, constipation, gulma, worms, eye, head and throat related diseases. Draksharishta 3 Ref. Kadhanikragam Dry fruits of Vitis vinifera L. (4.800 kg) is decoctioned using litres of water and concentrated into one fourth of decoction. Then add kg of sugar, kg of honey, each of 24 gm of Woodfordia fruticosa (L.)Kurz., Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merr. & L.M.Perry, Myristica fragrans Houtt., Piper cubeba L.f., Santalum album L., Piper longum L., Elettaria cardamomum (L.)Maton, bark of Cinnamomum verum Presl, flowers of Cinnamomum verum Presl in the the form of powder and kept for fermentation. Draksharishta 4 Ref. Asavarishta sangraham Sugar (4.800 kg), kg of honey, 384 gm of Woodfordia fruticosa (L.)Kurz., each of 48 gm of Piper longum L., Piper nigrum L., Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Terminalia chebula Retz.,

Flower, Myristica fragrans Houtt., Elettaria cardamomum (L.)Maton, Cinnamomum verum Presl skin, Cinnamomum verum Presl flower, Glycyrrhiza glabra L., Santalum album L., Abies spectabilis (D.Don) G.Don, Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merr. & L.M.Perry and 12 gm seeds of Solanum anguivi Lam are added in the form of powder in litres juice of Vitis vinifera L. and kept for fermentation.. Draksharishta 5 Ref. Yoga sinthamani Dry fruits of Vitis vinifera L. (4.800 kg), kg of sugar, kg of Ziziphus mauritiana Lam., kg of Woodfordia fruticosa (L.)Kurz., 480 gm of Areca catechu L., Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merr. & L.M.Perry, Myristica fragrans Houtt. Flower, Myristica fragrans Houtt. Fruit, Cinnamomum verum Presl skin, Elettaria cardamomum (L.)Maton, Cinnamomum verum Presl flower, Mesua nagassarium (Burm. F.) Kosterm, Piper longum L., Piper nigrum L., Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Pistacia lentiscus L., Anacyclus pyrethrum DC. And Inula racemosa Hook. F.are powdered and dissolved in the four times of water and kept for fermentation. The final product is recovered through distillation. To improve the smell and properties, Crocus sativus L. and Abelmoschus moschatus Medicus are placed in the distillation container. Then the distillate is undisturbed for 3-4 days and then consumed properly. Note When the green grapes are used in the preparation, the quantity has to be double. 7. Duralabarishta Ref. Astanga hrdayam Tragia plukenetii Radcl. Sm. (4.800 kg), 96 gm of Merremia turpethum Rendle, Sida cordifolia L., Plumbago zeylanica L., Premna obtusifolia R.Br., Justicia beddomei (C.B.Clarke) Bennet, Emblica offcinalis Gaertn., Zingiber officinale Roscoe are made into decoction using 15 litres of water and concentrated into one fourth of decoction. Then, kg of sugar, 768 gm of Woodfordia fruticosa (L.)Kurz., are added and left for fermentation. The fermenting pot is coated with Callicarpa macrophylla Vahl., Piper longum L., Piper nigrum L. by powdering with honey.

(1.536 kg), 768 gm of Emblica offcinalis Gaertn., 48 gm of Plumbago zeylanica L., 48 gm of Merremia turpethum Rendle, 4800 gm of Terminalia sp. are powdered and made into decoction using litres of water and concentrated into one fourth of decoction. Then, kg of jaggery is dissolved and add 192 gm of honey, Callicarpa macrophylla Vahl., Embelia ribes Burm.f., and Piper longum L.and kept for fermentation.. This asava is useful to cure grahani, anaemia, piles, boils, diabetes and leprosy. 9. Elatharishta Ref. Bhaishajya Ratnavali Fruits of Elettaria cardamomum (L.)Maton (2.400 kg), 960 gm of Justicia beddomei (C.B.Clarke) Bennet, each of 480 gm of Rubia cordifolia L., Wrightia tinctoria (Roxb.) R.Br., Merremia turpethum Rendle, Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Hook. f & Thomson, Curcuma longa L., Coscinium fenestratum Colebr., Alpinia galanga L.Sw, Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) 9 9 This arishta is recommended for blisters, small pox, asthma, fistula, sexually related diseases papuleus, deep wounds and skin related diseases. 10. Jeerakadhyarishta Ref. Bhaishajya Ratnavali Cuminum cyminum L. (9.600 kg) is made into decoction using litres of water and concentrated into litres of decoction and then add 14 kg of jaggery, 768 gm of Woodfordia fruticosa (L.)Kurz., 96 gm of Zingiber officinale Roscoe, each of 48 gm of Myristica fragrans Houtt., Cyperus rotundus L., Elettaria cardamomum (L.)Maton, Cinnamomum verum Presl skin, Cinnamomum verum Presl flower, Mesua nagassarium (Burm.
