Jing Fang Bai Du San Ren Shen Bai Du San Sang Ju Yin Wan Taiyang stage WCD + body soreness, pain, aches. + clear nasal discharge No sweating WDC invasion + underlying deficiency. s to Release the Exterior Wind/Heat Acute mild WH invasion + dry cough (pathogen could be moving from wei qi level) Key: W=wind D=damp C=cold H=heat Ph=phlegm UJ = upper jiao MJ = middle LJ = lower Yin Qiao San/Pian WH invasion + Acute sore throat Swollen lymph glands Toxic heat and fever Take a the first sign of a tickle in the throat. Gan Mao Dan Early stage common cold or flu due to wind heat toxin with: Sore throat and cough (before the phlegmy stage) This is a combination of Yin Qiao San and Sang Ju yin, but is stronger than either alone. Has a burning sensation inside w/ all heat sx in UJ Pathogens might be moving to Shaoyang stage with aching neck, shoulders plus high fever Anti-inflammatory, anti-toxin Summer Heat s Wu Shi Cha Huo Xiang Zheng Qi Wan W/C syndrome Flu, common cold w/ usual signs of this plus turbid damp digestive symptoms such as food stagnation, diarrhea, vomiting WC + Summer D and middle jiao excess. (stomach flu type stuff in summer n/v/d + w/c signs) Other stomach n/v problems Food poisoning and Traveler s diarrhea also. Damp signs are greater then wind/cold signs. For more of what bi yan pian treats more phlegm that is sticker, deeper into the sinuses, etc. Pe Min Kan Wan/ Bi Min Gan Wan Yu Ping Feng jia Cang Er Zi San Throat Disorders Qing Yin Wan Allergies and nasal sx (rhinitis, sinusitis, nasal congestion, etc.) Due to W/D/H Wei qi xu + nasal symptoms (acute or chron) Good for Austin allergies. Hoarse/raspy voice or loss of voice Following URTI, overuse, smoking. Nourishes yin, moistens throat. throat/lung, -pain. Focus more on dry than following formula. Xuan Mai Gan Jie Chong Ji Jin Sang Zi Pian Hoarse/raspy voice or loss of voice Following URTI, overuse, smoking. Nourishes yin, moistens throat. heat, -pain. Fu Fang Xi Gua Shuang Ear Disorders Er Long Zuo Zhi Wan Acute sore throat/mouth, laryngitis (topical) Heat toxins in the throat and/or mouth. Hearing problems, chronic tinnitus Due to Kidney yin xu Based on Liu Wei Di Huang Wan. Tinnitus is high pitched, worse with fatigue. Tonifies Qi, harmonizes Wei Qi (which helps prevent allergic reactions/seasonal allergies) Lung Qi xu Used interchangeably with Li Fei Wan, other patents for Lung Qi xu. Spleen Qi xu/spleen Qi sinking + organ prolapse Sheng ma and chai hu are the raising herbs in this formula. Shen Ling Bai Zhu San (Ren Shen) Yang Ying Wan Yang Tonics You Gui Wan Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan Spleen qi xu + GI disorders in MJ and/or LJ Sp and Ht Qi xu Poor digestive function + Shen restlessness Insom, palps, poor mem/concen, spon sweating, etc. Kidney yang xu and Ming Men fire xu Supportive of Yin while tonifying Yang Kidney yang xu With xu cold in kidney Supportive Yin while tonifying Yang Contains 3g of rou gui and 3 g of fu zi to build a small fire which builds qi. A larger fire would damage qi. Blood Tonics Si Wu Tang Dang Gui Wan Blood deficiency - fundamental formula Also fundamental for regulating menstruation (by regulating blood, chong and ren channels.)
